RE: Week 7 of Sun Belt bbal (Mon 2/8 thru Sun 2/14)
Hopefully Georgia Southern can keep its revenge tour going. After getting back at both UTA and Texas State, it would be huge to return the favor to USA on the road. If the Eagles can somehow sweep their road trip, I would think that a trip back to New Orleans is almost certain.

I expected our young team to get much better over the course of the season, but I think we're well ahead of schedule. GS still has problems with foul trouble, can't defend down low and is subject to streaky shooting, but they're showing the ability to run teams off the floor for 5-minute stretches.

Now, now.....the two top-rated teams, with the Cajuns (hopefully) on a 9-game streak, at home and looking to revenge the first loss.......no matter the outcome this has all the makings of a great game.

Oh Little Rock at ULL is going to be a great game. It's just the Thursday game won't be. You guys are going to slaughter us.

Women's game should be pretty good though.

Lol....I got your point soon after my response. Chalk it up to the Mardi Gras haze I was in this morning. The parades are really great this year.

The next four games will make us (LR) or break us. Road swing through Louisiana and Georgia.

So there are two teams that want to win the league, GS deciding at the last minute that they want more than just to make the tournament, and the rest of us looking somewhere between bad and mediocre. I hope to see some fire in my Panthers as the season closes out.

Last year it was us, GaSt and ULM fighting for the top. This year Little Rock, Louisiana and ULM.

Clearly us and GaSt are not as good this year

Golden: Left because of a felony charge of robbing a drug dealer at gun point
Hardwick: Left after a physical altercation with the coaching staff
Downs: Failed out the first semester
Foster: Hurt in pre season, taking a redshirt.
Kern: Hurt his knee in OOC play, out for season.

That takes us down to 8 scholarship players. From there, Dante Thomas is battling a bad ankle, and missed the Texas State (got hurt early in the game), Georgia State, and Georgia Southern games. He played against South Alabama and Troy, but was clearly not 100 percent, and was very limited. We're 2-3 since that point.

RE: Week 7 of Sun Belt bbal (Mon 2/8 thru Sun 2/14)
I had hoped the Belt could get 2 in this year but it looks unlikely. little Rock is our best hope for an at-large but Warren Nolan in their predictions have Little Rock finishing 26-3 but only 59 in RPI. I doubt 59 RPI would be good enough which would be a shame. If Little Rock does finish 26-3 they deserve to be in

RPI isn't the only metric they use. There is still a chance if they run the table, and get upset in the championship game by UTA, Cajuns or maybe even ULM.

That said, there's virtually no chance those four aren't in a post season tourney unless something unforeseen happens.

ESPN's Bubble Watch just out does not list us as on the bubble. They do mention us, but say that our schedule is just too weak.

With the way college basketball has gone this year I have no idea who is going to be in the tourney this year. There's a handful of teams playing better than the rest and then there is a large group that are middle of the pack and not doing anything to distinguish themselves. Either way I do expect us to get 3 or 4 teams into post season tourneys.

UTA women throttle Texas State 80-48.

Here's hoping the men can at least do something similar as far as result goes.

Someone was out for TXST but that was just ugly. I don't think it would have made too much difference in the outcome.
