what I'm thinking? We are going to surprise some people this year in football and basketball.
We just need to come out and win that first game to get this ship sailing with a full tail wind.

I can see it. Just look at all the returning players with experience (47), to go with this outstanding coaching staff. plus adding those players nobody knows about (Setzer, Hands, Millbrook, Fractious, Allison, Lee) and several players back from injury (Levesque, Harmon, Good) and the academics for these two have been corrected this summer (Pinkney(QB) and Whimper (back to DL and bigger)). Moving players back to correct positions (Sellers (DL to OL) Koonce (DL to LB) Flournoy (LB to FS) Whimper (TE to DL) All these unknown factors to prepare for......
Pinkney back at QB was one of the main keys....

If Kort's Dad can work a miracle with this offensive line talent we have, Skip could be coach of the year with the success we'll have.
The offensive line will be the key.
Hands, Setzer, Millbrook, Cotton and these other newbies will have to get strong and experienced in a hurry to help THAT much. They're big but I wonder how much time they've spent in conditioning and weight training. Next year could be their coming out party...but if they're early, I'm all for it.

I think we will be better. I am not sure how many wins that will equate too but we will be much more competitive. I think 2006 we will be back to a winning season. Maybe 4 or 5 wins for 2005.

The returning players and new editions are exciting. The thing that gets me the most pumped up is the solid coaching staff assembled by Coach Holtz. You just get this feeling that the adults are back in charge with TH and the new coaches and that good things are starting to happen for ECU Athletics. This years schedule certainly gives us an opportunity to suprise folks. I would love to see 6 victories and a return to a bowl game. That is the shot in the arm that the football program needs.

Agreed ShoreBuc. The talent might not be world class but I'm willing to bet it is at least avg. to better than avg. and that doesn't account for the numerous losses and 50+ points allowed in the last two years.
In basketball, I think Mr. Hammonds is really going to step up with Mr. Ingram. The players we have are definitely capable of a winning season and more. :ecu:

I have tempered enthusiasm for this season. I want to be hyped up but with the last 3 years weighing heavy on my heart I just can't get to excited.
However, if JP was a definate QB this season I might increase my optimism.

If we are in the running for a bowl bid late in the season, I'll take it. I can see us winning five or six games this year if the OL comes together, the QB situation is sorted out, and the fresh blood is up to task.
