W&M has three conference losses ...to the other three teams atop the CAA.
So, Tribe has avoided the bad conference loss, so far. Conversely, is this the high water mark?
Right but we have the top 2 at home. And we certainly owe Towson. Just keep winning, 1 game at a time.
I thought Cohn's play to get dalembert out at 5 min mark was a key, very smart play. Plus jmu started having butterfingers inside late. And I thought Dixon's 3 and Curry's miss of a 3 at the other end was the key Sequence late that kept it from going down to the wire.

Eh, go re-read some of your football threads against UR.
No thanks. Much more fun to see and read about you all losing to nerds, waste management, William and Gary, Larry, Curly and Moe or whatever else you Poodles call us.

Sounded like a great crowd tonight. Dixon stepped up with ice in his veins from three, great FT shooting by multiple players down the stretch, and some great defense in the 2nd half. Love the way this team is jelling. As someone noted, we're up to the mid-30s in RPI now. Keep winning and only good things happen.
Cohn's play to get Dalembert was definitely smart, but Dal should have been out the play before that when Malinowski drove and hit a layup. Dal smacked his wrist so hard that I felt it. It was 30 sec after he came in though, so the ref right on the ball gave him a mulligan.
Nice adjustments by the Tribe in the second half. Now, a big test coming up at Northeastern before the big Gold Rush game. 4 weeks to go.
Going into today there were 5 teams in the top 100(and Towson is 7-3). UNCW has moved into the top 100 along with JMU, the Tribe, Hofstra and Charleston. 4 big road games left beginning Thursday.
I often call out Shaver for not making adjustments so I think it's fair to say props to Tony for switching to the zone and sticking with it. You da man Coach T!

It was a great crowd. The Kap is louder this year.
We've owned JMU recently due to Coach Shaver being better than Coach Brady. Hallmarks of good recruiter/bad coach: great against man, poor against zone; players make dumb mistakes (Dalembert fouling out, Curry visibly upset on offense). JMU is very talented and very deep. When we started playing like a disciplined team, we came back. If they weren't hot in the first 10 minutes, we might have won big.
Also noticeable in this game was a Coach Shaver's timeout strategy. He made great decisions there tonight.
JMU's press wasn't getting turnovers, but we were completely out of sync on offense, then they took it off. At least some of that was them not hitting everything, but Cohn was bringing the ball up at his own pace (often very quickly) for most of the second half. We were having a hard time getting the ball inbounds, then we didn't see the press anymore.
Our offense changed when we started attacking instead of settling for 3s, and also when we started looking for the mismatches off of switched screens. JMU switched on almost every screen, and we did not take advantage of it until the second half. I could be mistaken, but it seemed like we had a lot of offensive rebounds tonight from crashing the offensive glass, which is unusual. We usually drop back to prevent fast breaks.
This was a wonderful victory. A great team win sparked by Terry Tarpey, whose fire lit the second half fuse.
We played shutdown, tenacious zone defense in the second half that had JMU totally confused and tentative.
Tremendous crowd and crowd support. The students and fans have really gotten behind this team
Tarpey, Omar, Daniel, the blur known as David Cohn, both centers and Maliniowski played unselfish
basketball in the second half, forcing JMU to wilt under our speed and pressure.

Amazing how some fans can seemingly turn on their own team and put them down after a bad 10 minutes of basketball and a whole half yet to play.
I know you, Zablenoise, Rocco and Tribester are passionate Tribe fans, but perhaps you all should stop living and dying (emotionally speaking) with every twist and turn of the game and just let the entire game play out before offering any critiques. This is not to say the team wasn't playing poorly for a good portion of the first half, but you just look foolish and like less than a fan when you get so down on your own team so easily. Free world, but that's my unsolicited advice.
Great win, great showing and student showing, keep it rolling!

It was a great comeback, but there is still no excuse coming out as flat as they did at home in a big rivalry game.

If Charleston is still top 100, they wont be much longer.
Hofstra and UNCW haven't played each other yet. One of them will fall into a tie with us if we win thurs. just take it 1 game at a time Tribe.
And we did not get much on the offensive boards. In fact JMU killed us on the offensive glass tonight. Their first 8 pts of second half alone were all from offensive rebounds.

To be fair we had an early lead before JMU went red hot, so I don't think we came out flat. Yes, we weren't playing smart on offense (i.e., working the offense and creating good shots), but that is not the same as disinterested or flat. JMU was applying some good defense and we bot put on our heels. Credit to our guys for adjusting. I trust the character of our young men, so very seldom do I question their motivation or will.

We should all just not post anything until after the game. Or something. God forbid we comment as the game is unfolding.

Calm down...please. 90 isn't a hater (frankly, he's quite the opposite) and his post was respectful. Firing back with nasty language...once again...isn't a good look. We're on the same team here.
