Implications of the CAA Tourney move to Charleston for NU
NU fans will show up in smaller numbers for sure. We have a pretty big alumni base in the Philly - DC mid atlantic area. Additionally, fans from Boston won't have the option to drive anymore, it'll pretty much be fly or nothing. Biggest concern is for the students. They are always awesome at the tournament and It'll be tough to organize trips down to Charleston when taking a bus is a day long event itself.

For me personally, it's not the best, and I'm a bit bummed. I live within 2 hours of Baltimore and have friends I stay with for free when I visit. I really like the city and lived there for a year after I graduated.

I think though as a whole NU fanbase we can't complain much though. We don't exactly show up to the tourney in Baltimore as is, and I think the die hards will still make their way down there. Plus it's a chance to see a new city.

For the league as a whole, I don't know the economics of Baltimore, but it must not have been great, and if they are moving it so soon and from a central location there must be a good reason. I guess it'll be closer for Charleston and UNCW fans.

I look forward to one more weekend in Baltimore, maybe it'll put more NU butts in the seats knowing after this year it'll head south.

I like the move for obvious reasons, but think about it this way. Charleston at that time of the year is a place you can make a vaca out of not just for hoops. Golf, and other outdoor activities are pretty much a given with the better weather. I understand why some further north might not like it, but if you can make a spring break out of it.....

Yeah, i think I look forward to going to Charleston, the only problem I see for myself is getting down there every year, where Baltimore is really easy for me. I think NU's spring break is usually first week in March....maybe the students won't mind.
