so the 14 current members

OU and KU

Cincy, UH, ECU, Boise, SDSU, Fresno State, UConn, Memphis, ODU, UNCC, Temple, SUNY-Buffalo, UNM, Stony Brook, Slippery Rock, Arkansas Tech, CSU, Missouri, Syracuse, UCF, USF, Rice, Tulane and Tulsa

would you have pods of 10 or pods of 8 and how many conference games and how many fixed rivalries

RE: BIG Tidbit
If i were creating a 40 team big 10 i would have an original big 10 and pac 10 division than a 10 team division built around texas and another built around penn state. Divisions would act as conferences with no crossover other than a 4 team playoff for football. Team up with a 20-24 team SEC and leave the NCAA or just reduce there control. Thus, its pretty much back to the future with 4x 10 team league under 1 management.

Welcome to the B1G, Kansas and Oklahoma.

Would be nice to get some ACC property too so we can expand south on that side of the country.

no but there is a reason he is popular right now and it has to do with telling the truth and not sugar coating things

I saw him on an Apprentice state "there are a lot of stupid people out there" and you know what he is right nothing wrong with saying it if it is true

This is ridiculous....I go to several OU athletic events a year (mostly wrestling meets) went to Grad School at OU, my parents live in Norman area, my Dad talks to Barry Tramel somewhat regularly...If OU is getting Big 10 invite then it's as secret as Hillary's emails.... Be more specific: where you getting your info? cheers!

The B1G winning the Oklahoma sweepstakes over the SEC? That will make some folks around here unhappy.

Meh....OK has more in common with some B1G states than southeast.

The nation would love to get NE vs OK back on Thanksgiving week.

I think I outlined it pretty well in the OP. I'm not naming names.

As you shouldn't. Don't ever let anonymous people that you only know on the internet pressure you, ever, to start using names or what not.

You never truly know whom you are dealing with. Billybobby seems like a good guy, always been pleasant to me thus I am saying this all in more of a general sense and not directly about Billy. Just wanted to say that so that it was clear.

Well even if this is all true, Boren has pulled this bluff before and ended up with egg on his face.

He was most definitely acting on his own at that time but Texas was also acting very publicly. That isn't the case this time around. HE is the voice.

This time around seems different. It seems more controlled.

If the Big 10 expands Bullet they will look East. Kansas is a market they already penetrate, OU is not AAU and I would be surprised if they follow the Nebraska blueprint.

I'm just taking notes. When it doesn't happen there will be reminders posted, and often, about trusting insider info that was only designed to titillate.

It does drive the posts however.

Right. Kansas does make sense.

OU is just bluffing to get what it wants in the XII. Like Texas did with the PAC.
Bingo!

OU isn't going anywhere, and (probably) neither is KU. They'll just squeeze everyone else for concessions. Then after a couple of years Texas will start flirting with all the other conference (I'm guessing mainly the ACC, because they're the most likely to give the most favorable terms - like a ND deal), and Baylor, TCU, Texas Tech, West Virginia, Kansas State, Iowa State, and Oklahoma State will eventually pick up the tab.

RE: BIG Tidbit
all of the ADs and university presidents in the Big 12 know the real story of how everything went down with the Big 12 all along

they all know just as perlman from Nebraska has stated publicly that Texas was open and honest in all conference dealings

they all know 100% that NU, A&M and OU were 100% in favor of unequal revenue sharing and that NU, A&M, OU and KU were all in favor of independent networks and opposed to a conference network as was Texas

they all know that A&M was prepared to sue to get an unequal share of the money that NU and CU left behind when they left the Big 12 and Texas and OU declined to take that even though they could have

they know 100% that NU was further along on a NU network than Texas was on the LHN and they know that A&M declined to work with Texas on a network and they know OU was for independent networks even after A&M and MU left

so unlike people on message forums like this they are not going to be impressed by boren and his "we need to make things more equal" nor are they going to be impressed by boren trying to pretend that a conference network is some savior of the conference even when OU was always against one

they know how the expansion vote went down and they know that Texas did not hold a gun to anyone's head or force anyone t do anything so again they are just looking at boren as the doddering old fool that he is when he tries to rewrite conference history and tries to gin up the same old "evil Texas ruining the conference" garbage

because they know that was garbage from A&M and garbage from NU and frankly none of them care what CU or MU thought anyway and they know it is garbage from OU now because OU voted the exact same way on pretty much everything that Texas did especially in relation to a conference network or not and Texas was not responsible for missing out on FSU or Clemson nor were they the only vote that would have stopped Louisville if they were an option

so his garbage might sell to his fans, but the members of the Big 12 that will be sitting around the table are going to yawn and snicker and laugh and roll their eyes if he tries the garbage he is pulling in public behind closed doors

and as the OU fans have said "well can't a guy change his mind" and the answer is yes sure they can. but it is a little late 3 years later and you look like a fool not a leader when you crap on the conference publicly while claiming you are a "leader" and when you try and corner a fellow conference member that you voted with on pretty much all the major issues that you have now "changed your mind about" and they all know that if any G5 schools are let into the Big 12 it will only be 2 or 3 years before boren is crying about those schools not exciting the OU fans (even though he is pushing for them now in spite of the fact OU fans do not want them) and they know that if OU is making less money off of a conference network (if the Big 12 could even get one) in a couple of years than OU makes from their own network now boren will be the first one crying about how the big 12 and OU are not keeping up and these other ADs and presidents of the Big 12 are not going to sit back and listen to him babble and not call him out and corner him like he is trying to corner Texas

and when they do he will fold like a cheap suit and that will be that until he calls a reporter again and makes a fool of himself again

and if it keeps up I am sure a few of them will call a reporter of their own as well and let him in on the truth of OU demanding things after the fact and OU not being willing to make a commitment to things after making demands

I could see Texas do a Notre Dame type deal with the ACC.

PAC 12 is out of the question for other Big 12 schools without the 2 top dogs that the PAC wanted with Oklahoma and Texas. That could mean great news for the AAC schools that could who want to join a P5 conference. PAC 12 may look at Hawaii, New Mexico, UNR or UNLV, San Diego State, Boise State, Colorado State and Houston or another Texas school to go to 16.

Texas won't because the Big XII would pretty much match it if it meant them staying, and all other factors being equal, Texas is better off in the Big XII because of geography and in-state politics.

Still, making the Big XII bend over backwards to accommodate Texas (especially after it bent over backwards to accommodate OU and KU) would advantage the ACC in a number of ways.

To roughly quote the Dude's lessons he learned before he gave up twitter forever for 48 hours:
Just because somebody works in the athletic department doesn't mean they know anything.
Only those at the very top really know what is going on.

And out of curiosity I checked on what I considered (and still do) a troll post. Kansas has a single board of directors for all the universities. Few, if any went to KU undergrad. One is a dentist and serves on a hospital board.
