The last time I remember drawing a crowd that large that was 100% there just to see UAB is probably the UTEP game in the 2009-2010 season when we were ranked. But even then UTEP had a decent team and it was a battle of two teams at the top of the conference.

IF we keep running the table, I don't think it's unreasonable to see at least 7k for each of the remaining home games.

Also, if we run the table or come very close to it the C-USA Conference Tournament crowds could resemble the ones during Coach Bartow's glory years...if that happens C-USA probably keeps the tournament in Birmingham for a good little while

I've been told UAB will not get choice of tip time this year. If true, the 2 & 3 seeds have the evening slot. http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/c-us...racket.pdf

In the past, the home team has always had the evening slot to assure better attendance.. Why would CUSA cut their own throat by assuring that attendance will be bad for the evening games

It would be really odd since the commissioner was just on our coaches' show last week talking about how much we need the local community to support the tournament.

Maybe... and I am truly speculating, the 1 seed, if its the local team, normally would have the least amount of rest between the semi-finals and the final. So putting them in the early bracket would guarantee they were not disadvantaged in that aspect.

Highest seed in the semi finals remaining have usually been given the early game.

However, the finals is at 1:30pm rather than the usual 10:30am this year.

If that is true, that really sucks.

I hope that isn't true. Assuming we're the one seed, would they really make the best team in the league that's hosting the tourny play those mid-day games? Talk about an attendance killer. For a conference that isn't swimming in cash, you'd think they'd be doing everything possible to get as many people through the doors as they can. Making the host play at noon on a Thursday is the surest way to shoot yourself in the foot.

Yep. I can make the Thursday game if it's a night game. The time on Friday doesn't matter as much to me. There is no reason uab should be playing a day game Thursday.

All they have to do is swap the top and bottom of the bracket to put UAB at 6pm at thursday. I think they'll do it.

The #1 seed should get the most rest & prep time from the semi to the final.

But I will say that having the largest and most raucous home crowd possible would also be a positive.

It would be a good question to ask Coach Haase tonight.

I think c-usa will care more about tickets sold than what's the fairest to the 1 seed. So they'll try to put UAB in primetime games as much as possible.
