Cohn has really come on in league play. Whoever called him a "chump" a few weeks back might want to offer a retraction. He's doing a great job distributing the ball and really limiting his turnovers. He's hitting threes and picking his spots to push the ball much better than early on in the season. Love the emotion he plays with. Credit to Shaver for bringing in a talented transfer and getting him to fit seamlessly into the offense in half a season.

Malinowski was impressive today. Heady ball player. Loved the dunk attempt.

I'm so happy for Sheldon. He obviously put in a lot of work to improve his post game and foul shooting. Having a legit post threat to go with our outside shooting is a tremendous boost. He reminded me of Rusthoven today and I never thought I say that about his offense.

Omar. He had an off day. There were a few missed fouls, but Omar didn't handle it well and let the refereeing get in his head a bit IMO. Felt like he was trying too hard to draw the foul at times, instead of just playing his game. I know his legs were probably heavy, but he had some defensive lapses. Can't let offensive struggles effect your defensive focus.

Foul shooting was pretty good today. Rough bounce for Cohn at the end, but he's been good at the line all year. Overall could shooting is trending in the right direction.

Great game and effort. Credit to UNCW. Can see why they lead the league in scoring. Number 10 for them was the difference. Our zone was working, but he forced us into man to man with his outside shooting. Man to man defense couldn't keep them from penetrating and getting to the rim. I like our chances in the rematch where we can put Dixon on him and make him shoot over a taller defender.

Going to be one heck of a tourney in Baltimore.

A day later and still amazed at the game yesterday. Agree with 90' about Sheldon. He played so well. So many times the last 2 years, we have been quick to criticize him. Nothing but stellar effort yesterday, he was fantastic. To have him mentioned in the same breath with Rustoven says a lot. Rustoven was a really good inside force and Sean has made unbelievable strides this season.

As for UNCW, they played extremely well and there was no complaining to the refs or even playing to the crowd. They really played well offensively.(Shooting 54% from the field and 48% from 3). If you recall last season, they couldn't make a shot in the last 3 halves against us. If you packed it in to stop the drives, they didn't know what to do. However, now, especially with Ingram, they have some players that hit from the outside to loosen up a zone. I was surprised we didn't play more zone yesterday, as much due to trying to save our legs as anything. On that topic, I never thought we played tired at any point yesterday. Thursday we actually looked more tired and slower than Saturday. Given the pace, it was very, very impressive especially since we only went 8 deep. Tarpey played 42 minutes, for example, but still had energy to make the steal and dunk near the end of overtime. It was a tough loss for us given the effort, but the team is really coming together. Even the guys that did not get minutes were totally engaged throughout. Coach and the program have really developed something(can you imagine if Thornton or Rustoven was still eligible?). When 90' and I were there, I could have never imagined a team that has a chance to win every game(I know we haven't, but we have been right there in every game, including UVA with 7-8 minutes to go). Gotta go back to work and keep improving. Big games coming up for everyone with a six way tie.

I think the biggest change for Sheldon is Cohn and his blending in to the offense. They play very well together on both pick and roll and back door. Cohn is very good at finding openings and Sean is getting open. He's big and has a good first step. If he could jump he would be an NBA prospect just from his size alone.

I agree and have also given him less respect in the past. If we could count on Sean for 12 ppg going forward I think we have a chance to be real good.

Watching them play together is almost like going back in time and watching Steve Nash and Amare Stoudemire.

The TV announcers kept talking about the "Princeton Offense", but in truth, the Tribe has not utilized that style of play in four or five years. Tony has always preferred a fast style of play [which he used at Hampden Sydney] but in his early years at W&M he did not have the athletic players necessary to play that style so he adopted the slow down Princeton style. Now that we have been able to recruit players who are capable of the "Run and gun" fast break style, that is the type of play Tony is coaching.

I was referring more to the fact that because W&M runs so many back cuts to the basket, the person in the post (e.g. Sheldon) has just as high of a probability of getting an assist as the guards do. While W&M has always been near the tops in assists/game, usually it is spread around evenly with like 6 or 7 players averaging between 1-3 a game
