Remember this thread where some people were trying to say CUSA TV deal may not drop in value?

Oh yeah,

Exactly. The only good thing about this is the playing field is more even and it makes no sense for teams to defect C-USA or the SBC but it'll come at a huge price to the SBC as well once our deal is renegotiated. My guess would be that deal will be similar to the new C-USA deal at best.

Why? You think because their deal tanks ours will when it's renegotiated?

CUSA TV deal has tanked because that league is a complete shadow of what it was when the deal was in place and because they chased ridiculous "media market" unicorns after losing teams like USF, UCF, East Carolina, Houston, et al.

Ours will likely stay the same when it's renegotiated or we will get a marginal gain. We are not going to get rich off of our TV deal to begin with.

The cable revenue is flat and its starting to hit the negotiation fan. Wait until the AAC deal comes in...

Have you seen Disney's stock price lately?

Huh?

I think every single one of us would sign up for 600K per team right now. We get peanuts until the contract gets redone in a couple years.

If we're wanting a comparison, ESPN just gave the MAC 750K per team.

I don't think you understand my tongue-in-cheek comment. FIU is in a major media market but if you think anyone in Miami or Florida in general cares about FIU, you're kidding yourself.

Ours can't tank...we don't get much of anything to begin with. Ours is almost certain to go up.

CUSA went crazy with the Market idea because they knew they lost their big money makers, and hoped this would work. Clearly it didn't change in anything.

You think ours isnt going down as well? This is the first salvo. Like I said, wait until the AAC realizes they are not going to get even close to the amount per team their fans have been dreaming up.

Do you understand what we make per team right now? You can't drop lower than what we get

I expect a marginal increase on our end, based off how much more the MAC just got per team.

Their stock goes down, so they're going to pull the plug on a conference whose ratings are very good in comparison to what they pay for it?

Keep in mind that CUSA sort of blew off ESPN a few years ago, so ESPN didn't bother bidding this time. That meant Fox could basically offer what they wanted.

Our situation is a little different, not to mention it will come a few years further down the road.

I know it's been stated, and it's somewhere on the internet... But help me out here:

Sun Belt gets ____/team.
CUSA gets _____/team.
MAC gets _____/team.

I don't care about MWC or AAC just yet. Thank you in advance for assisting my laziness.

Do you think the AAC's will stay flat, go down, or go up? I couldn't tell from your comment.

I think it'all go up at least a little. Their viewership is easily tops among the G5, and they're outperforming their contract relative to some of the P5's'ratings.
