2016 football season
Regardless of who coaches next year 2016 season will be very good. Yes, we lose Vad Lee (and we were 2-3 without him), however, we really don't lose much else. A couple of linemen, Cheatum and really nothing on Defense, just Mosely.

We will continue to score north of 35 points a game and hopefully we can find some help on Defense. I also heard rumor that Moreland will be back.

JMU football remains in great shape. Just need to get someone to preserve recruiting class.

RE: 2016 football season
How about someone who can improve recruiting class? Why wish for status quo?

I hope we are going after a proven FCS head coach on the rise. JMU is a step up from almost every other FCS program except some the the MVC schools.

The roster looks good and with a couple of key additions, could look very good. This is a better time for a coach to come into the program than it was when Withers took the job in terms of player depth. Mickey did not leave the cupboard bare either but the Dukes are deeper and have a lot of Sophomores and Juniors who have played the last two seasons. I would be salivating over this opportunity if I were a successful head coach at a lesser program.

Preserving the recruiting class will be the hardest part. At best a new coach will have 3 weeks to try to keep verbals and sign new ones to fill the ones that have decommitted.

We either need a well connected head coach or to have him bring some superstar Mid-Atlantic recruiting assistants with him on day one.

The longer the clock ticks, the higher the likelihood that JMU takes a beating on signing day. That wouldn't crush the program if the coach is able to get multiple FBS transfers during Spring ball.
JMU can't afford to hire someone who needs a ramp up year to get everything in place.

Taking a beating on signing day woudn't hurt much for next year. From the 2 deep from the last 4 games only 5 of 22 starters were seniors (3 offense/2 defense). Ascene Jacques was the only other 2 deep senior. So only 6 seniors on the 44 2-deep. Only need true Fr to replace a few of those 6..

Were only 11 seniors on the roster. Unless there's a lot of off season losses, not going to need a big signing class.
