Northeastern Game
Big test at home today at 4pm. NU leads the league currently, undefeated in league play. They beat Miami (The U) by 1 in Miami, but ironically lost to the other Miami (OH). Also lost to NCState by 6.
Happy 500th!

RE: Northeastern Game
This may be as tough of a game as we play all season. Coen is a great coach and the Huskies will be a challenge. Flattering to see that we're favored

Actually, it will be a much tougher game when we play NE at/on their home rink. So it is really important that the Tribe defends the Home Village this afternoon.

Correct. I meant (but did not write) at home. Matthews is a frozen hell hole

RE: Northeastern Game
My lasting memory of Northeastern is how many baskets they get within the last 2-3 seconds of the shot clock. They are not a team that is easy to come back on. The Tribe needs to start fast today. Given that Northeastern already has 2 road wins, this is a really big game in the regular season race. The Tribe needs to take care of business at home today, especially with a lot of road games coming up.

RE: Northeastern Game
The two teams are actually VERY similar, as both coaches are highly respected and have similar philosophies on how to build a team (why we both seem to be on ALL the same recruits).
We both were built for good three point shooters to be successful (less so for W&M this season) and both rely on changing defenses.
In games where their 3 point shooting is off, they have tended to struggle. They are the leading 3 point shooting (38,7%) and Free Throw shooting (71.8%) team in the CAA.
Four of the Top 10 scorers in the CAA will be in action at the Kap. Northeastern has 6'6" Sr. David Walker (18.4 ppg) and 6'8" Sr. Quincy Ford (17.0 ppg) checking in as the 2nd and 4th best scorers, while W&M counter with Omar and Daniel at #3 and #10 respectively.
Ford and 6'5" guard Zach Stahl both rebound well, pulling down 7.6 and 5.7 boards per game, respectively. Stahl is one of the best rebounding guards in the league.
Also, 6'1" Sr guard Caleb Donnelly is a dangerous outside shooter, hitting 41% of his shots from 3.
Tribe needs to defend the three well today and rebound well enough to take advantage of the (hopeful) misses.
*BONUS Note: Ford's "little" brother (he's 6'11"), Sajon, is a freshman on the Huskies this season.

RE: Northeastern Game
With Eatherton and Spencer gone this season, we've definitely depended on the 3 more. Two good examples of this are the Miami (FL) and Michigan St games. I really thought we played very well in both. We shot 54.5% from 3 vs. Miami, and only 12.5% vs. MSU, missing many wide open looks.
I would never call Stahl a guard though. He's a power forward in a 6'5" body. I wonder if he'll start today (did not start last two after breaking team rules).
We never seem to win down in Williamsburg, hoping for some good bounces today.

For two good shooting teams, there are a lot of bricks going up so far.

The crowd would be larger if the game start was 7pm

Our winter break ends really late (January 20th) so it's gonna be that way for a few more weeks.

Feels like W&M is up by a lot more than just 5 right now. NU getting no open looks early. W&M great defense.

67% to 21% shooting. NU has jacked eleven 3s so far.
