Agree. I have a feeling this team will go down as an underachieving team with 2 stars on it; Thompson and Lee. Kind of reminds me of a Dale Brown LSU team. Two of the best players in the conference but not a cohesive unit.

Lee will may never be a star or reach his potential because Raven Lee lets Raven Lee get in the way. Thompson and Nazione are the best examples of blue collar work ethic on this team. Raven Lee doesn't even come close.

If we were a better interior passing team Thompson could be scary good. He is a great finisher at the mid-major level.

If we had Talley this year we'd be burning up the court. We need to find a true point guard. The jury is out on Alvano and Stone.

I think Talley was about as much of a true PG as Toney is. Not a knock on Talley at all...he's one of my favorite EMU players ever. But he did a lot of the things people knock Toney for, like driving into traffic, getting layups blocked, but at least knew how to draw fouls. He wasn't exactly Mark Jackson, though.

I do not agree with your Talley assessment. Talley turned the ball over too many times and was not even close to being a finisher at the rim like Toney. I would take Toney over Talley any day.

RE: Game Week: @CMU and @NIU
I think Talley was a step quicker than Toney and was better at breaking down defenses as a result of getting around the defender. Ialso think Talley was a better passer. I also think Talley had a take charge attitude with the game on the line that I haven't seen with Toney.

I disagree that Toney is a pure point guard type, I think he would tell you that if you asked him.

Odd all the love for Toney there are a lot of posters who have posted they aren't impressed with Toney so far.

I don't think Toney is as good of a basketball player as Talley was, but neither of them are true PGs. I also like Toney a little more than some others here. He's a bigger, stronger guard and looks good at the top of the zone. His offensive numbers aren't pretty on paper, but at least he isn't jacking up 10 threes a game.

Last Season Talley: 12.5 points, 4.2 assists, 1.8 turnovers, 2.3 rebounds, shot 43% from field, 33% from deep, 70% from the line.

This Season Toney: 10.2 points, 3.6 assists, 2.3 turnovers, 3.7 rebounds, shooting 35% from field, 16% from deep, 68% from the line.

Much smaller sample size for Toney 11 games vs 35 for Talley.

Raven Lee into the starting lineup for Mangum. The way it should be.

Finally. Mangum will be so much better suited off the bench. I want Raven in there as much as possible tonight. I hope the UNF game was a nice wake up call.

Mangum and Bond off the bench should be potent.

Agree, this should really bode well. Limiting Mangums shot volume and increasing Lees.

Shocker. Good things happen when we give Thompson the ball.

Jodan Price looks so much more comfortable and confident this year. Still some work to do, but turning into a nice player.
