You guys would love my dad
Calls me a socialist(then asks who I am going to vote for- wanted to say the "socialist" Bernie Sanders but figured he would never speak to me again- though that may not be a horrible thing if he treats me this way) and goes full Faux on me with anti-union stuff along with pulling yourself up by the bootstraps, I should support business interests over my own, government is the problem etc.

Sounds like a great guy.
Really wish he would have known when to pull out. Better a stain on the mattress than a stain upon society.

Not really. Not sure if I am going to go see my father much anymore. I just don't want to be pounded on verbally. I feel that this all starts because of my new job(and the way my brother's life has gone as well). I think he is embarrassed of where I work because "I should be better than working on a line at a food manufacturing plant"(no, righties, I am not talking about McD's). I know he wanted better for me(us) but sometimes things are what they are. It just doesn't seem like he can accept that.

Well, I could say the same thing about someone I know from SC(It isn't you. You aren't worth the effort). I know 1 person from SC that I HATE but I would at least try to be courteous but not friendly to the person if I ever saw this person again. Doing so is a better approach than bashing them for what they did or who they are.

You come on this forum all the time attacking southerners and conservatives and you have the nerve to get butt-hurt when it is thrown back at you?

Nothing wrong with working class jobs, be proud of yourself, who gives a damn what your father thinks. That is his issue, not yours. I may not agree with your stance on politics but no one deserves treatment like that from family and for all those on here harassing you over it, shame on them, we all face our own struggles.

RE: You guys would love my dad
Some of those vitriolic attacks on people make a lot more sense now.
While it sucks to be treated like crap by somebody it doesn't excuse behavior.
I hope he finds some peace with his dad but the truth has been confirmed.
