Sun Belt pro bowlers
Wondering if any other sun belt alumni made it in the pro bowl. CCU had Mike Tolbert and Josh Norman.

Not yet. Mager is the only starter (right now) but give him time, he's just a rookie and Mayo is backup to Kuechly. He's going to sit as #2 for a long time unless he goes to another team.

The Chargers are so injured they put Mager back as their PR tonight (along with CB duties). I think he last did that, routinely, in HS. He did a few times at TXST but not enough to elaborate on.

Demario Davis did not make the Pro Bowl, but had a very good year as a starting LB for the Jets.

Mayo isn't #2 to Kuechly. More like #4

John Settle (RB Falcons 1988), but like your 2 he wasn't a Sun Belt Alum.

Carolina has 8 LBs for 3 positions. You can't make a 4 deep out of that.

Mayo filled in when Kuechly was hurt. He'll sit back and learn from him. Kid is smart and a good player, why you ragging?

It's not out of the realm of possibilities down the road.

As a Panthers fan who watches every game I know that the pecking order at MLB Kuechly, AJ Klein, Ben Jacobs then Mayo.

Also, I'm hating because the only KR TD we gave up this year was because Mayo left his lane and whiffed the tackle

I'm not going to argue this. There's a possibility down the road.
You're 14-0. I don't think it hurt in the long run. 1 bad play does not a career make or break.

You're also wrong in your original post regarding Mager returning punts. He was our primary punt returner in 2014.

Sorry, I don't remember him returning many punts. I had moved to CC and only got to 1 game. I thought that honor was Smith/Franks? God I'm getting old.

As for Mayo, he has seen PT when Kuechly was injured. They don't have a 4 deep, they had a 2 deep with 2 more LBs. However, If that makes him a #4, fine, otherwise my point was he may make it one day....that's all.

Kuechly is a hell of a player and Mayo is going to learn a lot from that guy. Just give him time.

Smith and Franks were the primary KRs in 2014, but Mager was the PR.
