I was wrong? I said he needed 6 wins. I said he is a smug.@&&. I said we should have won three MORR games than we did. I said he doesn't seem to be all that happy in Atlanta and at GSU. He is still 7-30. So where was I wrong? He won his 4 games to save his job. Kudos. But seriously he still burns time outs like he is eating chicklets and he and his staff get out coached on the regular. San Jose State just out coached him a week ago.

I guess to answer saints question that would be a "no".

Without Arbuckle. We'll see.

Agreed. Not anointing him at all.

Are you surprised he didn't go for a JUCO QB last week?

No. I think they are still likely looking at a graduate transfer plus what we already have on the roster. More concerned with running game. We don't need another 4000 yard passer. We do need more production out of the running game and we have no elite RB on this roster.

RE: Ball State and Trent Miles?
Well, this would be another interesting twist in the story of GSU football this season. It would make sense for him to go to the right job, even if it seemed like a lateral move. (And it's amazing that I'm even referring to Ball St. and/or TXST as lateral moves.) There's been talk of some conflict in the athletic department for a while, and he certainly might prefer a different area of the country.

If he goes, at least he's shown that it's possible to put a spark in GSU football. I think he stays though. The chance is there to build something even better and get even better offers. Plus, I doubt he wants to be known as a guy who takes terrible teams and makes them decent without ever stepping up to the next level.

Multiple reports saying that the rumor is merely a rumor.

He'd be crazy to leave. But, I'd help him pack his bags if he decided to leave. He turned the program around. I'm not convinced he's a great coach. Ron Hunter would be greater loss.

I've never seen the coach of the year have volunteers to pack his bags for him.

If you are not at at least 1M be prepared to lose your coach to anyone in the FBS. Even if the pay is the same the circumstance or personal preferences may make the difference when you are talking about less than 100K difference in pay. 1M will at least fend off most of the Tulanes of the world where pay is the about the only real reason a sane person would go there

RE: Ball State and Trent Miles?
Just like I said over at Panthertalk, I am indifferent about Miles. I would not be distraught if he decided to leave... still not convinced that he can take us to the next level. Hopefully I'm wrong. With what just happened with Ga Southern, I think we all know that anything could happen.

I mean, can you ever really have enough 4000 yard passers?

You cant but Nick Favre was one of a kind like Albert Wilson.

First two in ring of honor?

Source confirmed they have been in talks, but this is anything but a done deal. I would be surprised if he left but I would totally understand it with his QB situation heading into next season.

Link? If it's not in writing then it's just hearsay.

I would think that, given the pay rates at both schools, this would be leverage for contract extension negotiations. If so, good on him. Hate to see him leave this late in the game. I'm not even sure who's left to hire. Also, it'd suck for recruiting so late. Could kill some of the momentum we've gained.

Which he has denied, but perhaps someone reached out to the AD...also, that QB situation, likely no better at BSU.

Fritz leaving Southern because he may have seen the talent level dropping off starting next year.you could see it this year.Coaches know what they have.

Actually, Fritz left the roster in a better position than when he got here. Solid depth built up with FBS recruiting over the past 2 years.

The contract details are not out yet, but he easily left for double $. It is his chance to cash in before retirement.
