Or if you want to get into the head of App's QB go for Lamb. He's a former HC at Furman and now the HC at Mercer. Good dude too.

Huesman and Lamb would be welcomed with open arms by the App and GS fans. Both have shown an amazing flair for getting their teams into big games and inventing new and creative ways to lose them in the most excruciating ways possible.

Cue the "Miracle on the Mountain..."

RE: Congratulations Texas State!
If Im running the coaching search at Texas State, there are several very interesting names I would consider.

Bo Pelini---former head coach at Nebraska. He was run out of town for winning a mere 9 games a season at Nebraska. They fire him and go 5-7 the next year. Bo is currently HC at Youngstown State. He'd be a pretty interesting hire for Texas St and a guy that would coach with some fire since he has something to prove.

Tony Levine. The guy can recruit Texas. He stocked the shelves with solid talent in Houston. The problem with Levine is he came up as a special teams coordinator, so he brings little offensive or defensive expertise to the table. His success will lie in how well his OC and DC utilize the talent he provides. If you go this route, pay him a modest salary and move some of that money to the assistant pool. If Texas State has the largest (or close to it) assistant pool in the Sun Belt, he can hire a high quality staff that will likely be very successful with the talent Tony will bring in. If I were AD, Id also require my approval on the OC/DC hires because they will be that important.

Doug Meachum--Co-OC at TCU. This guy has been recruiting Texas for a while and he has proven ability with offenses. He has done a great job coaching up QB's. He's ready for the next step.

Anywy, good luck on your search. Hope you guys find a good one.

An extreme level of anger at the program and not wanting to be a spoil sport to those enjoying better fortunes.

In short? I was a bitter bitter man.

You feeling better now.

Phew, I couldn't imagine going from Fran to Fran Jr. as that blog states as a minor possibility.

Fran junior may turn out to be a great coach someday... but he doesn't have enough experience at this level...

Has potential though. Won a juco national championship... also recruited, coached and developed cam Newton before auburn signed him

And well after he was recruited, signed, and booted by Florida. Not exactly a diamond in the rough scenario

I don't want brad... I'm just saying he may turn out to be a decent coach someday after he had gotten some coordinator experience

You guys should try to get Manny Diaz from Miss State. His style of defense would wreak havoc in the SBC. I have no clue what he currently earns as DC at Miss State, but I imagine Texas State could make it an attractive financial move for him.

If we look at a DC to bring in as HC, I like Entz from NDSU.

Hell, you guys are FBS now. Go for NDSU'S head coach! That's how the pecking order goes.

Keeler seems like a good choice, the guy can coach, and he's been in TX a few years, should have some
Recruiting ties established. FWIW I think I read where Pete Lembo was leaving Ball St to be Special Teams Coordinator/Asst Head Coach at Maryland, so TXST won't be the only G5 hiring at this point in time.

I think Grass at Jacksonville State would be an excellent hire. I wanted him for the UNT. Watched JSU play Auburn really close during the early part of the season. Watched Grass on the sidelines. He's intense. He's got it.

Good luck with your hire Texas State fans.

Gotcha. Assumed by "DC" you meant defensive coordinator. 04-cheers
