We brought 48k plus on December 22nd...you want to go to the bowl game or not? You could make it back to Australia for Christmas Day playing on the 23rd.

We had 15-20k in Athens this year and GaSt,GT last year. I would imagine we could have 25k or more for a bowl in Atlanta which would be like ULL having a bowl in NO.

Unless it was on December 23rd, then you would have 3500

How many ULL fans do you predict will show up for your bowl game this year?

I know there were some Cajun fans going to the N.O. Bowl. I wonder who they were hoping would win? ;-)

Well there were a few Georgia Southern fans go to the Camellia Bowl last year. Of course it was to hold signs and walk in front of USA fans to say we didn't deserve the bowl and GS should have been in the bowl. So you can count me out of the GoDaddy for this year.

You're really missing the point though. Last year the GoDaddy bowl was on January 5th which was a way more manageable date. There's predicted to be up to five inches of rainfall that day alone, and we really don't have a coach. We have an interim coach and they're announcing our new coach after the bowl. That's enough to put any team and fanbase on edge.

I think ULL going to the NO bowl every year has kind of put y'all out of touch with how the real world works. I guarantee if y'all had a bowl game in Orlando (comparable distance between Statesboro and Mobile) along with the rain, and the team pitfalls, and the date, y'all would bring <4000

Please tell me how bowls work from all your past experiences. You know fur every person that December 23rd is bad for there is someone that day is good for? A lot more people have Christmas vacation off or work is quiet allowing time off. Just because a day is bad for you doesn't mean it's bad fur everyone. If you were going you would have booked the trip way before any accurate weather forecast son
Not buying that. A lot of you were talking sht about App not traveling well...they looked pretty solid to me. Godaddy chose GS because they thought you would travel better than App...making them look like idiots and regretting that decision wouldn't be good. We would have way more than 4000 in Orlando. Our worst attendance would be Montgomery and we would still bring 8k-10k...Orlando is a destination and Florida is south Louisiana people's 2nd home. Everyone wants to always downplay what we do I'm New Orleans but stAte just outdrew a Louisiana school in New Orleans and props to them for doing that. It's just funny all the talk about app not traveling and the godaddy being more prestigious wanted southern because they travel better etc...and some of you are predicting 3500

I can't tell you what the Cajuns would bring to Orlando because they've never traveled outside of New Orleans. That being said, I can tell you that bowl games are not going to just look at the numbers and excuse your fans because of the date. The fact is Go Daddy has no control over when that game is played, and chances are it will remain around the same time for the next few years. If Georgia Southern doesn't travel for this date, businesses and restaurants and bars in the Mobile area will notice, and that will have a huge effect on whether you guys are chosen for this in the future. Especially after Arkansas State sent 13K out 2 years ago for a Sunday Night late game in the middle of a rare sleet storm.

I'll bet you a six pack of Abita beer you won't have 500 fans in Statesboro next year. Every one talks about traveling fan bases - I have seen two teams travel to Statesboro - Marshall and South Florida. No one else brings more than a few hundred.

Stadium capacities would be helpful as well.

App had an awesome crowd and we were really loud, I was pleasantly surprised. I was thinking 5, maybe 6k but I'd say we had 7k at least probably more tbh.

Yeah that's what I was thinking when I was thinking about this more. They announced 21k there's no way there were 11k there that weren't App fans. So yeah if that attendance is right we EASILY had 10k. We filled our sections and had a considerable number of fans on the Ohio side too.
