Streaks on the Line for bowls
Appalachian State: First Sun Belt program in history to have an 11 win season. They are the 2nd program to ever hit 10 regular season wins already (Arkansas State 2011)

Arkansas State: Third 10 win season in the past 5 years. Second team in the NCAA since 1980 to win 9 straight games after a 1-3 start (Boston College 1986) (San Diego State has chance to match in Hawaii Bowl) A Red Wolves win Saturday would give the Sun Belt 2 teams with 10 wins in the same season for the first time ever.

Georgia State Fastest Sun Belt start up program to 7 wins in history. (6 ties 2014 South Alabama)

Georgia Southern: An Eagles win on Wednesday would guarantee the Sun Belt 3 programs with at least 9 wins in the same season, also a first for the league.

I think a lot of us forget how young this conference is in terms of football. Really makes you appreciate the conference a little.

Working on confirming this. A win by App or Georgia Southern would make them the first team to play in AND win a bowl game in their first year of eligibility

The only one I am not sure of is the Marshall team that won the MAC in its first year of FBS (Back before the transition rule)

Marshall went 10-3 in 1997, their first year of FBS. They went on to lose to Ole Miss in the Motor City Bowl.

If App State wins Saturday, they will be the first team to ever have 11 wins in their first full year of eligibility.

It's not that young to those of us who've been here since 2001.

I'm not sure it's as much young, as being a situation of how the league was formed. While the MWC and AAC are younger, they were formed by groups of established FBS programs, who simply wanted to get out of their current league. The Sun Belt upon its creation was a hodge podge of young programs that no one really wanted.

It took years for this league to get established enough that we can even produce one champ with an 8 win type year. The fact that we could have 3 9 win programs this year is pretty remarkable.

2013 USA had 6 wins as well. I wish there was an open bowl that year because we were eligible (our first season). We were seconds and 12 points away from being 11-1 during the regular season. But don't remind me 03-banghead
