Welp, he's not happy with me on Twitter. I suppose no Christmas card from him this year.

Oh well. He always has come across as a pompous turd on the radio. Probably a rough feeling that his beloved GMU moved on to better things yet wouldn't finish in the top half of the CAA.

I got the "tap" this year during the football playoff game. People sitting behind me were not the normal season ticket holders. I have always tried to be respectful and stand only during important times, but it was a big third down situation during the first half and everyone was standing. Fellow tapped me on shoulder as I rose, and nodded to some lady that I assume was his mother, letting me know that she could not see. My words were "You have got to be kidding me". Hell, the woman did not look to be a lot older than me.They left after the first half. My favorite, to this day, was at another football game a few years ago when a lady sitting in front of me turned around and told me that her husband had a hearing aid and that I was hurting his ears because I was clapping too loud!!

What's worse about Mason is that outside of the DC metro area and the CAA, nobody even knows who they are or that they made it to the final four. They will live in obscurity for years. Their program is in the toilet right now.

The fact that he gives credit to the Tribe after the win is like me praising GA State.

@pgreissing William and Mary is going to be a problem for folks in the CAA as well. More balance this year without Thorton.

Speaking of Mason, how's that move to the Atlantic 10 working out for you. Mason had visions of being Wichita State, but they have turned out to be more like Cleveland State.

Maybe they can coax Rolly Massimino to come out of retirement.

Hiring Paul Hewitt was a dumb mistake. It will set them back years. Having lived in Atlanta and frequented GA Tech to see ACC games, I watched him put that program in the toilet. He did the same for GMU. Hewitt is the BHO of college bb coaches, arrogant and thin skinned with only illusory positive accomplishments you have to have a particular leaning to discern.

I believe that "someone else" is the BHO refered to in the previous post - but it is always good to make sure.

Actually I thought that I might get in trouble after my post, so I left it a bit vague so that I would have plausible deniability. Then, since I must live under a rock, I actually googled BHO to see what it meant. Then I realized that I was double redundant!!

You guys love to politicize threads. You, for some reason, bring the POTUS into a game thread...I boot it to Siberia...you throw a tantrum because I'm infringing on your rights under the First Amendment...and we start the cycle again.

So far W&M is 95th in adjusted defense under Ken Pomeroy's metrics. Last year they were 301st. They're 88th in offense- last year they were 27th.

RE: High Point - Monday 21 Dec @ 7pm
2014-15 Offense: 111.7 points per 100 possessions
2015-16 Offense: 106.6

2014-15 Defense: 109.0
2015-16 Defense: 98.9

They aren't quite as good on offense, and it looks worse compared to the rest of the NCAA but they're still able to put up points. They're notably better on defense. The 2009-10 team gave up 102 points per 100 possessions and was 175th. Hofstra, JMU and Northeastern are Top 100 offenses so we'll see if the defense can keep it up in conference play and show that Shaver saw and fixed the problem from the last two years.

Our defense has improved greatly this season and, in this observer's opinion, will improve even more as Tot
gets more playing time. Ollie is a strong defender and perhaps as physical defender with his size and body as we've had at the guard position in some time.

Additionally, if Sheldon can continue the marvelous defensive effort he showed against Brown the other night
and Whitman, too, ratchets up his play as he showed in the OT...then this too will solidify our already stronger defense.

I'll take a few less offensive points if we continue to perform as one of the better defensive teams in the CAA this season.

Interesting that The Tribe's defensive numbers are better with the shot clock change. It would stand to reason shorter shot clock could mean more points. It could also mean opponents are rushing their offense and not taking good shots. As the season goes on we will, and probably have, see more stats showing if scoring is up and if so by how much.
