30 for 30, Four Falls of Buffalo
A new 30 for 30 documentary premiere last night about Buffalo's early 90s Super Bowl teams. It had several interviews with Scott Norwood talking about 'the kick' and the aftermath. It's obvious he's still quite tortured by the miss, but overall it's a well balanced look and highlights the grace with which he handled himself and achieved some partial redemption by making a crucial FG the next year to win the AFC Championship.

I look forward to watching it. Scott Norwood was, as Teddy Roosevelt said, "the man in the arena". I admire anyone who has the work ethic and talent to perform at the highest level. He was 5-5 in the playoffs the next year.

His sister-in-law was my 8th grade P.E. teacher at the time (Lanier MS, Fairfax). Didn't come in for a week as the whole family rallied around him. Big-time stones the way he handled himself in the aftermath and the next year. Pretty cool the way Buffalo fans have come around over the years and really glad to see this film, even as a Skins fan who enjoyed the heck out of the last great Washington team the next year.

Hard to imagine in the modern gotcha/negativity world we live in for the crowd to be chanting hard for Scott Norwood in the parade after the Super Bowl and cheering wildly for him.
