Ranking the bowls
11. GoDaddy Bowl (Dec. 23, Mobile, Alabama) – Bowling Green (10-3) vs. Georgia Southern (8-4)

13. Raycom Media Camellia Bowl (Dec. 19, Montgomery, Alabama) – Appalachian State (10-2) vs. Ohio (8-4)

25. R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl (Dec. 19, New Orleans) – Arkansas State (9-3) vs. Louisiana Tech (8-4)

40. AutoNation Cure Bowl (Dec. 19, Orlando, Florida) – Georgia State (6-6) vs. San Jose State (5-7)

It's a shame stAte didn't draw a quality opponent for this game or it'd have been ranked much higher.

Quality opponent.....What are you talking about.............

Now ValleyBoy is not the brightest poster on this messageboard but just from checking other threads stAtes opponent seens to be the most hated football program located inside the Sun Belt foot print.

Now we know that we as fans of difference Sun Belt schools want our conference mates to win all 4 of the bowls that Sun Belt conference teams are playing in this year.

But ValleyBoy would guess that LaTech is the one opponent that each and every Sun Belt fan wants to get beat like an ugly stepchild. Beat so bad that LaTech fans will never forget. Beat so bad that every time the game comes up that they crawl back under a shell.

Our offense needs to show up if we're going to deliver an interesting bowl match-up.

For me, La Tech is kind of 'meh'. Okay, more than 'meh', but they aren't all that. They do have some really mouthy fans and have collective delusion as to the relative merits of their program, but okay.

USA has a series coming up with them. Of course I'd like to beat them. But its not like, OMG, we must beat them or else.

RE: Ranking the bowls
I enjoyed LA Tech when they came to San Marcos back in the WAC days. They brought the best traveling crowd I've seen in SM for a none Texas team. Of course they were ranked 23 at the time so I would hope they would support well at that point. Almost beat them too. Could have had a top 25 win in our first year.

RE: Ranking the bowls
Skip Holtz will not coach well against a hurry up offense with a dynamic quarterback. I was a student during his days at ECU and his style does not match up well against teams like Arkansas State. I expect it to be close going into the 3rd but Arkansas State will pull away with a fury as they have done all season since Knighten has been back. Dude is game changer if not for his play then for the threat he presents if he's not accounted for.

La Tech is very much a "meh" bowl opponent. They are a decent, mid tier G5 program. They are capable of beating us if we play poorly.

However, that's all that they are. Just not the same as playing a WKU or Southern Miss, or even a Bowling Green.

If the Bowls were aligned to match-up the best teams against each other, you would've played Bowling Green.

That would have been a great matchup.

Yes. We're the only ones that will get slapped around on a different day. 03-lmfao
