Predict the Oklahoma Bowl Games
All three Oklahoma teams are in really good bowl games this year which shows us that Oklahoma is still a great football state. So lets predict the outcomes of the bowls for the Sooners and Cowboys as well as our own TU team.

****I may revise and bump this thread.****

OSU v Ole Miss in Sugar Bowl -

OU v Clemson in Playoff Game in Miami (Playoff Round 1) -

TU v Virginia Tech in Independence Bowl -

RE: Predict the Oklahoma Bowl Games
A couple of thoughts about the playoff -

OU not being in a conference championship game and getting in the playoff will change a lot of thinking on expansion. Iowa was eliminated by playing in the Big10 championship and the others jeopardized themselves with the possiblility of losing and even denying their conference a chance at the NC. OU, on the other hand had nothing to gain by playing since it was a vitual certainty they were IN. This should stop a lot of the talk about the Big12 expanding for the moment.

But the solution is a playoff similar to the way DI-AA does it. Allow access to all the team conference champions - probably an eight team bracket (or more). Play it on the field, not in the board room and in the media.

RE: Predict the Oklahoma Bowl Games
I think OU will beat Clemson. In fact they could beat them by 14+ points.

OSU's chances will be dependent on Rudolph's health. Let's hope he doesn't re-injure himself helping out Santa this Christmas. /lame joke

Not sure how TU will match up with VT. It's gonna be hard to beat Beamer's birds with it being his last game and all.

RE: Predict the Oklahoma Bowl Games
OU will win the entire playoff IMO. They beat Clemson by 10 and then Bama by 10.

OSU will get beat by Ole Miss by 2 TDs.

VT by 10.

IMO

I sure was wrong! Clemson 37, OU 17. Todays headline could have been "Stoops Screws Pooch!" 04-jawdrop07-coffee305-ban

Now OSU appears to be tanking against Ole Miss. 34-6 at the half. That's the same Ole Miss team that Memphis beat earlier in the year. It appears that the best prepared and most entertaining team in the state right now resides at 11th and Harvard in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Talk about not ready for prime time!!!!! 04-jawdrop03-puke04-chairshot

TU can captalize on this with local recruits imo.

Final
Ole Miss - 48
OSU - 20

So both OU and OSU got doubled up on the scoreboard. 07-coffee304-jawdrop03-puke05-nono

RE: Predict the Oklahoma Bowl Games
So which Oklahoma team played the best in their individual bowls. Here's my ranking.

1. Va Tech 55 - TU 52. A really fantastically entertaining game imo. Even in losing, TU won over a lot of fans. imo

2. Clemson 37 - OU 17. This was the most important OU loss in years and wasn't even a competitive game for the most part. imo

3. Ole Miss 48 - OSU 20. Non-competitive from the get go. Why would any impartial fan even watch this public spanking. OSU tanked.

OU finally played someone who was not beat up with injuries. Stanford and Ohio State were both better than OU and should have been in the playoff instead.

Thanks for stopping by. And congratualtions for your great performance against Florida St. And you are certainly right that injuries played a role in getting to the playoff.

And one thing that really hurt us (TU) this year was getting our best receiver hurt in the Houston game - Keevan Lucas. Its imperative nowdays that injuries be kept to a minimum. We are hoping that KL gets a medical redshirt for last year's injury - it will be close. He would be a junior rather than a senior in 2016.

Tulsa will be fine. UHvs TU is our oldest rival. We have played Tulsa more times than any other school and it is always great.
