Andor is great. EP 6 could pass for movie quality. That episode was top of the line for Star Wars media. Pacing is slow in the show, so if that's a deal breaker, you may not like it. The show is dark and gritty and much more for the adult crowd.

I actually ended up liking it and want a second season. At some point after the 3rd episode I got lost in it and forgot it was even a Star Wars story.

Disney star wars was or is crap.
Disney simply profited off the love of the series and put out a bunch of crap because they knew we'd buy it. Shame on Disney for murdering a classic.
RE: OT: Star Wars Thread [Warning: Possible Spoilers]
I have higher hopes for Ashoka next month. Reports are Kathleen Kennedy wasn’t allowed to go anywhere near it and F it up like she did Boba Fett. Dave Filoni has been completely in charge of it and given he produced good shows on the animated side there’s a couple of reasons to have higher expectations. I guess it remains to be seen if he can do live action as well as he did his animated shows.
You can’t admit defeat and then turn around and say the reason you’re losing is something completely different than everyone else sees plain as day. Their shareholders have to be losing their minds. The thing is though the backlash like we’ve seen like with Bud Light hasn’t hit DIS in the same way. The impacts have been subtle and slower. DIS is one more miscalculation away from losing half its valuation again.

If Kathleene Kennedy still has her job after her pet project (Indiana Jones 5) will lose Lucasfilm like $400 million dollars, she will never be fired. She obviously has pics of Iger and the entire Disney Board in full BDSM gear or something.
How do you screw up Star Wars? Literally the biggest movie IP on planet earth and you can't figure out how to just give the fans what they want!

That doesn't fit with the Star Wars narrative. Nowhere in "A New Hope" do either of them express that they ever knew each other, and certainly never had a close bond. I think the writers could have accommodated that fact.
Supposedly it was originally centered around Luke, but KK came in and changed it to Leia. The canon seems pretty clear that Leia and Obi-wan had no prior relationship, so this seems pretty foolish to me. Kennedy was reported to be ticked off after Mando season 2 ended with grand master jedi Luke kicking butt, and breaking the internet. How does she still have a job at this point?

That ending was so perfect though.. Especially with Gideon's expression.. Think about it, it was all rumor that some kid destroyed the Death Star.. Was rumored to be a Jedi.. Then took out Vader, the Emperor (at this time he was thought dead), and destroyed another Death Star.. To see an X-Wing roll up.. And a hooded figure get out and start swinging a light saber all but confirmed it.

No doubt man, that one scene almost broke the internet dude. With that one scene all the original trilogy fan seemed to be sucked right back into the fanbase. However, it was very short lived and Disney quickly went back to crap with their next series.
RE: OT: Star Wars Thread [Warning: Possible Spoilers]
Andor was good. Crazy to me that Disney was only able to produce one good show, but then I saw many of the script writers and directors talking about how activism was more important than a good story.
There are stories told from people who have a different political slant than me like Stephen King who produce really good stories because the story comes first. I don't think enough of them remember this when writing.
One of the big Star Wars Youtube guys cried when Luke skywalker came out in the Mandolorian and kicked butt. Lucas Film decided it was a good idea to make fun of him for crying. They later apologized, but I can't think of anything that represents current Star Wars more than mocking your own fans.
All they had to do was have the og cast kicking butt and introduce the new character slate behind them.
Instead they attacked fans, put ideology over story, and picked the wrong stories to tell.
The fact that Andor which is a story based on a side character that came from another side character that came from a non main characters movie is crazy. The fact that it was so separated from the main story is probably the reason it was even good. It probably limited the Lucas Film meddling.
