The thing that concerns me about the future Tulane schedules is that many in the Tulane family seem to be taking CUSA too lightly. They seem to be thrilled to be playing LSU, Alabama and even Auburn all in the same year thinking that will enhance Tulane finances. The thing that concerns me is it could become a death spiral. Consider an improving CUSA and a reborn Alabama. Should Tulane lose to LSU, Alabama and several CUSA teams, that would give them a losing season. Losing seasons make it harder to recruit players capable of winning in an improved CUSA causing future losing seasons. Continued losing causes empty seats, even for LSU and Alabama. End result, failing revue and abolitions of Tulane football.

I agree - see comments in other thread
We shouldn't start ole miss series until after the Alabama and Auburn series are over. But playing 2 SEC teams a year and losing both shouldn't doom us to failure. AT this point, the talent should be developed to withstand that pressure and not let it ruin the rest of the season.

Our teams will improve as well. In fact, we're finally lined up for what should be some good years ahead. What we're doing with our schedule is ambitious while also providing $$$ for the program. I dont see that as such a bad thing when you consider we're in Conference USA West vs similar opponents who , right now, are just about on par with us. We can afford to play LSU, Bama, Ole Miss, when we're playing the likes of SMU, Rice, Tulsa as well. With a 12-game schedule and Five Bowl tie-in's, I see this as a risk worth taking since we're looking at only a three-year peroid where LSU/Bama/Ole Miss figure to all be on the schedule at the same time. That type of scheduling would figure to appeal to potential recruits.
