In all fairness, we had been in New Orleans so many years, many fans were wanting something different. Not only that, Fedora had made his infamous "the next time we're in New Orleans, it'll be for the Sugar Bowl!" comments the year earlier after beating Troy.

Put all that together with a matchup against a team who had never won a bowl game and the disappointment of the season already (started 3-0 then fell apart and lost three games we should have won) and it being Fletcher's senior year, fans just didn't want to go there.

I don't know many who thought we were a better team than MTSU, though when we got up 14-0 I definitely had it run through my head. But man, Dasher was something else. Didn't help that we had To Brafor coaching our defense.

That was one horrible defensive game. To Brafor calling defense was almost enough to want someone to stick a stick in your eyes so you couldn't watch anymore.

The reality is, we're the conference champion, and a large group of our own fans believe we should be playing a P5 team, or a G5 conference champ as a result.

No one's faulting you guys for wanting to play a Big 10 team (Provided they have 6 wins, I'd play Tech before a 5-7 doesn't deserve to be there team) It's just we want you guys to realize we're saying the exact same things on our board. Tech has basically no name or recognition in Northern Arkansas...outside of really old alums who remember the old days.

The problem with BB&B is that the few tend to shut the others down.

There are about 8 fans over there who are really bashing, and two or three are known trolls. It's just those 8 have dominated the threads to the point that they are the only thing you see.

I don't assume you guys are all like those nut cases...most of the things I heard from Cajun fans about your fans was positive. And that was considering you beat their brains in (sort of like everyone did this year) and whenever the Cajuns lose, sometimes their view of the opposing team can become rather warped.

So, should we judge all USM fans based of ee?

I refuse to paint all fans with that broad of a brush.

But credit does go to ee, he did mention Tech, make a joke, and didn't bring up attendance. See - there's hope for the world after all.

I dont see any point in discussing the La Tech-USM attendance because it would be embarassing to coda to let the public see what little interest there is in playing a western div championship game in Ruston.
