I agree. While not the top job in the SEC it is certainly a school in the top third of the SEC. I think Smart will make a good head coach, but you would expect to see Georgia go for more of a prominent profile. I do believe the immediate need to recruit is why so many schools move too quickly. They seem to value next year's class of recruits more than they do the long term prospect of proven coaches.

Also, I'm dead serious when I say that a coaching talent gap is coming with the retirement of Boomer coaches. I believe hiring younger guys in lower divisions and top coordinators will be more of the norm going forward because those who have made their names household words will be retiring instead of moving.
