Oklahoma will be left out of the playoff
If Stanford beats USC and Clemson and Alabama win their games, Oklahoma will be left out and the Big 12 will be forced to expand and get a championship game after two years of being snubbed.

OU is penciled in regardless, the only thing that might hurt OU this week is their seed.

I reckon that's probably right ... "Iowa, Big Ten" has Iowa written in pencil, Big Ten written in pen, and aconvincing win in the Big Ten CCG could push the school that beat the CFP #4/#5 school past Oklahoma, but that would just affect Oklahoma's seeding.

I am not 100% convinced of the CFP committee's sanity ... it ought to be say it was a lock, otherwise Stanford would be standing in front of the Buckeyes right now. If beating USC and Notre Dame does not convince the committee that the Cardinal is better than the Buckeyes, then beating USC twice and beating Notre Dame shouldn't convince them to push the Cardinal into fourth place, past both the Buckeyes and the Sooners (after letting the Big Ten champion leapfrog into 3rd).

If Clemson or Alabama blow their CCG, the Cardinal might get in, but (assuming sanity) it would be slotting in after the Sooners.

Oklahoma moving down to #4 might actually be in their best interests anyways.

The way Clemson looked last weekend, you might want to face them instead of Alabama.

I would love for Oklahoma to be left out of the playoff. It would create a sh!t storm of chaos, and destroy the Big12 in its wake.

Oklahoma is in. Big Ten champ is in. Alabama is in assuming they win. Clemson is in if they win.

The only other contender would be Stanford, but they have 2 losses. A one loss conference champ will trump a 2 loss conference champ.

not automatically. Stanford at 11-2 will trump UNC at 12-1 if UNC upsets Clemson.

I would expect the B1G Champion to move up at least one spot given it is a game between two Top 5 teams. I would not even be surprised if the winner winds up at #2, as Alabama will not get a huge boost from beating Florida.

I think in this case Big 12 better be glad that its representative is Okahaoma/Texas .... Oklahoma in this case. I wonder if it would be the same if it was Baylor, TCU or OK State with same resume.

its not the ******* name for the billionth time. Its the fact that Oklahoma(as blue bloods do) actually schedules like a man and not like a ***** like Baylor or Oklahoma St did this year. What screwed Baylor last year was their schedule. not their name.

We do not know what the bowl committee would. They could do the same this year like last year by dropping OU all the way down to 8th.

I was just about to say that if anything, Iowa, Stanford and UNC would be squeezed out of the playoffs for not having big enough names. We saw this with TCU and Baylor in lieu of Ohio State last year.

Except Iowa is ranked 4th and is playing for a conference championship against the 5th ranked team. TCU simply played an unranked ISU team at the end of the year which is why their win did not stack up against Ohio States dominating championship win against a ranked Wisconsin team.

RE: Oklahoma will be left out of the playoff
I'm being facetious, I know Iowa will likely make the playoffs. I'm just saying that some big wig could just push them aside for a bigger name with more history like Ohio State.
