I think our rivalry with App is very civil. The chest-thumping and hyperbolic rhetoric gets turned up to 11 on game week, but the players always treat each other with respect on the field and the closest thing to a huge incident involved a ruined postgame spread and some broken windows.

The animosity directed at GaSt stems more from one poster's point that 'rivalries' involve some modicum of respect. GaSt spit on GS for no good reason for a couple of years and now wants to act like it's getting picked on when the Eagles end up in the same FBS conference and all of their grandstanding has come back to haunt them.

App and GS fans can get along fine while hating each other because we've travelled the same road and have given as much as we've taken from each other for almost 30 years. When the Panthers can show some sort of pulse and the ability to contribute more than long-winded dissertations about media markets and accreditations, they'll earn a place at the GS table and there will be at least some sort of begrudging respect instead of the current disdain that they have earned.

It looks like BG is headed your way GS. Currently up 28-0 in the 3rd. This is assuming the AAC rep doesn't go to a New Years bowl.

I'm feeling we get Ohio.

Yep. Bowling Green to Mobile, Ohio to Montgomery.

Bowling Green has really impressed me in all phases.

NIU played in Boca last year so I doubt they want to play there. The Boca bowl is going to have Tulsa as an opponent who is 6-6 which makes it undesirable. They may be in the AAC but not a big athletic name.

Normally I'd wonder why the MAC would send NIU out to San Diego to get their Brains beat in by Boise with that QB situation, but I forgot Boise has been a royal mess this year as well (Thanks Bryan Harsin!), so that bowl might as well be renamed the Disappointment bowl.

Ohio is a good draw for App. Bowling Green will likely whine and complain about playing a Sun Belt team that likely won't win the title for about 2 and a half weeks, to be replaced by "Hey, they are pretty good." (It's like clockwork with some MAC fan bases.

I think Ohio, NIU and Toledo want to play schools with good records if possible.

Toledo played in Alabama last year, NIU played in Florida last year.

Maybe Toledo wants San Diego or they could want to stay home in Detroit.

Yeah it's rough but there is really no good matchup right now. Any bowl matchup will be a struggle. It is a bummer but it is what it is at this stage.
