Did not follow it due to a scout meeting, but it seemed like EMUs game the whole way through. Or at least seemed that way by checking the score periodically. Why nervous?
They cut a 19 point lead to 6 with like 3 minutes left in the game. It was a nail biter. A clutch basket from Toney took the wind out of their sails, and then we hit some free throws.
Wow that is a big lead to lose especially in a low scoring game. Though I would not call a 6 point lead at the closest a "nail biter". :-)
I do think listening on the radio puts a person more on edge though.

Any road win against a d1 team is a good win.

FOUL TROUBLE!!!!
We had 4 key players in foul trouble most of the 2nd half.
Brandon, James, Timmy and Raven all had 4 fouls for more than half of the 2nd half...
We have depth in the backcourt, not the front court.
Ahhh, that actually makes sense

I am starting to notice a lighter side to Super. But I agree. They are only 3-3, but looking like a tough team given the close margin against major conference teams.

we had a nice lead the whole time, but i was constantly worried that the game would slip away. if the 2003-2007 Pistons would have played a game like this, i wouldn't have been concerned whatsoever. but, given the amount of misery we've seen with EMU in the past 15 years, even an OOC road game like this feels huge and i didn't want to see it slip away. plus i'm a natural worrier.

seriously! if he can put up numbers like this during MAC play he'll be, at worst, all-conference second team. he's an exciting dude.

80-73. Thompson had 16pts, 15 rebounds. Lee, Nazione, Bond and Price were all in double digits as well.

Dear Eagle Sam,
Thanks for the score 80-73. Nice road win too. Scored 80 points tonight. Is this going to be a trend?

Why I was getting concerned, also, was that without Brandon and James IV, we are toast.
Teams will score on us like playing a CYO team.
Brown is what 6' 7" and weighs a little more than Bond... Lol.
We absolutely needed LWH up front as back ups to Thompson and Nazione.

Dear EMUAARON,
Thanks. I actually got the score from the Main MAC Board, posted by EagleSam. Things are kind of going crazy with all the posting, but thanks again.

RE: Game Day: NE-Omaha
BTW, what I like is that Price has come on giving Murphy the OPTION of where to play Bond.
Bond could start at EITHER the SF or PG positions.
Seems that Murphy really likes Bond at PG because he can push the ball, drive and distribute (which is what PGs should do).
So we've added Toney, Mangum, and a rejuvenated Price at the 1, 2, and 3 positions. And, of course, Thompson at 5 so we've added a solid core of players at all positions but the 4 spot.

you finally got Bond at PG, huh Steve? Interestingly, Lee led in assists with 5 to Bond's 3, but also more turnovers for Lee with 4 compared to only 1 from Bond.
You don't like Nazione at the 4? 12 points on 5-7 shooting with 7 boards is pretty solid. He has been playing really well this year.

Neither did I. Wonder if he's hurt. He has looked better in the middle than Brown has.

What I meant is that we didn't add a '4' this year. We added Toney, Mangum, and Thompson. Price has developed into a '3'.
LWH was supposed to be our (backup) '4' man.
Bond had a very good game. Murphy was effusive in his praise for him after the game. Bond is a natural PG. He doesn't shoot well enough to be a SG. He can also be, as we've discussed, a point forward.
Mostly depends on the team talent and how Murphy wants to use him. Bond didn't need to play PG last year because of Talley.
BTW, wasn't the starting lineup Bond, Mangum, Toney, Nazione, and Thompson?
Prediction: Lee starts @ PSU and will start the rest of the season.
