There's little doubt you've been set free. Likely from an institution.

Are you really going to claim that quote above is the truth? Really?

Hud's not going to jet unless a serious P5 offer comes along and I just don't see that right now. He hasn't earned a big offer. And besides, $1,000,000 a year goes a long way in Lafayette. He'd be nuts to make a lateral move and with a long-term contract in-hand, I think he's here to stay for the forseeable future.

I imagine that with possible NCAA sanctions still looming over you guys, it's safe to say that Hudspeth isn't going anywhere, anytime soon. No P5 program, or G5 program for that matter, would go near him until that all gets settled.

It's a shame for ULL that you all didn't self impose a bowl ban for this year, but I guess you weren't expecting the season to end this way for the Cajuns.

Before you say it, let me say that I readily admit that I've got little room to talk about a season ending poorly after the absolute butt whipping USM put on us yesterday in Ruston.

I won't comment on the unspeakable things USM did as they bent you guys over and had their way with you, but I will ask. A conference division title on the line and you could only muster 19,000 fans? And the number of actual @Ruston fans was likekly much lower as I suspect USM had 1500 or more there?

I thought you guys owned N. Louisiana?

Let's see. Schools out. An 11:00 kickoff. Raining before, during, and after the game. I don't know, what do you think might have had an impact on attendance? The rain kept many away, just like it did at the TCU vs Baylor game the night before. Rain always affects attendance for everybody, including ULL. As was evident at your last rainy home game.

As far as owning north Louisiana goes, we own north Louisiana every bit as much as ULL owns south Louisiana, which I admit, isn't saying much.

The funniest thing was @Ruston folks complaining that the early kickoff made it hard for out of state fans to travel! Like USM fans are not out of state! Go NahTech!

A kickoff time of 11:00 AM affects attendance negatively. It does so at every school. Rain has a negative affect on attendance as well. Only an idiot would have trouble understanding that.

You need to relax. The home and home series between La Tech and ULL is behind you now. You won't have to face another butt whipping from us for at least three or four years. Perhaps you should focus your vitriol toward teams like USA and NM State from now on.

Absolutely. Tech lost to NW State last year. At home! That game taught us all a lesson, which is to never take ANYBODY for granted.

“I (told) our team, ‘If they can come and beat us at our place last year, when we were really good and (had) won six or seven in a row (six) … then I definitely know we’ve got the team to go up there and compete well and have an opportunity to win."

“Very few times have we not been picked as favorites,” Hudspeth said of his reign. “But … just because you’re not don’t mean you can’t."

Post Game
“You don’t feel good about it, because you feel like your defense played good enough to win the game,” Hudspeth said.

No unwaddfing necessary.
“You’re talking about a team (Appalachian State) that’s averaging 40 points a game, almost. And, for the most part, it was a 21-point game.”

App: 401 Total Offense / 227 Rushing / 204 Passing / 25 First Downs / 6 Yds Per Play Ave

Had it not been for Lamb's pitch to nobody on a 1st down play at the Cajun 21, the Apps would most likely have scored 35 - considering we were 3 for 3 on Red Zone chances anyway. OK Hud, you held us to 5 less points.

Unwad your panties, he is saying our defense played well enough to give us a shot. Our offense did nothing. A defense can only hold so long, if your offense keeps giving the ball back immediately your defense will eventually give up some plays. Not everything is a intent to down grade the opponent. Our defense played well considering they got no help from the offense...which your defense had a part in.

No unwadding necessary. Simply pointing out your coach has a history of this stuff.

Of what? Call out our offense when they almost get shutout? Saying that he thought our defense played well enough?

As I SAID in an earlier post, these comments are not by themselves the issue, but when you toss in all the other snide comments about not wanting to be in conference with a bunch of FCS move ups and all the complaining he did about the excessive travel to Boone. People around here have had just about enough of The Hud's mouth.

So, why are you posting on here again? Prior to you, there was no mention of ltu-R, which is the reason you give for always coming here. Just another, lying, low-life, ltu-R scum.

Has he ever been to App state? Or was he listening to people who had? Our other sports and radio guys are the ones who have made the trip, HUD hadn't until Saturday. When he made the comment there were a lot of other names being mentioned that your fans wouldn't want to be associated with either. He has given app and GS plenty or respect and compliments but I guess you don't find the time to look those up and post them. He has been on record in the paper saying the league improved and you bring tradition and atmosphere to the League. I guess that quote slipped through your editing huh?

When someone says they don't won't to be associated with you it's a hard hole to climb out of. It was an ignorant comment, often times people in public positions say stupid things and they follow them for quite a while. This is one of those.

He says nice things now because he can't tell his fanbase he got his butt whooped twice by a bunch of FCS moveups.

Said it before we played last year, I agree he shouldn't have said it. If you look at the timing, he wasn't saying it about you 2...I firmly believe that. This was when everything was hectic with realignment and people like Lamar, mcneese and SLU were being thrown around... Locally at least. He almost immediately made sure to give your programs respect. Again, I wouldn't expect any of you to post those because it doesn't fit the HUD is a bad guy narrative.

And btw, I see you're back at again.......attributing comments others have made to me.......because whenever you mention delusions of grandeur I know you're referring to those Cajun fans who talk about the Big 12.

BR, I don't know if you do the same in your personal life (constantly painting others with a single brush), but if you do, that practice is eventually going to bite you in the ass.

Please refrain from doing it to me here.

Maybe he isn't a bad guy, just not a smart guy. The SBC takes two teams from the FCS and that is his quote, not smart.

We are talking about football coaches, not brain surgeons. Why do people think football coaches are smart people in general? They aren't. It wasn't smart of him to say it, I think he was taken a little out of context and got caught up in a private interview and said something he shouldn't. Critiquing every word out his mouth as if he has some attitude towards you is paranoid insanity. Saying in the paper that he thought the defense played well enough is just that... He thought our defense played well enough. Our defense got us 2 turnovers and we didn't score a point. Go read every article on Sunday and see how many coaches point out a good performance from a certain aspect of the team.

That was it, and shortly after he somewhat retracted it about app and GS, saying they had tradition and great fan bases and would add to the conference. It's those other names that bothered him, they bother me as well. Particularly Lamar. It wasn't smart of him to say it. I'm sure everyone's current coaches have never said anything stupid.

On record AFTER he got served a huge plate of crow last year. You can't deny The HUD is outspoken and sometimes his mouth gets him in trouble.

Quote:“I’m not favoring turning this into a ‘take all the I-AA’ league,” he told the Advertiser. “I’m not interested in that route whatsoever.”

This? This is the quote that has App panties wadded so tight you couldn't drive a steel stake through 'em?

Just yesterday I asked a GaSouthern fan to explain how adding Coastal Carolina was laughable. Trust me, once in FBS, plenty of former FCS fans will question every call up.

Nobody is saying he's a bad guy. It's just his mouth gets ahead if his brain from time to time.
