Trying to make the crowd look better by consolidating?

Not a bad idea if that is the case.

I will reserve judgement until Saturday, but I thought this is what the pro-fcs crowd wanted ---- a sold out BFS for meaningful home playoff games (of course excluding Thanksgiving weekend).

Let's Go Dukes get out there and root!!!!

I logged in earlier today and outside of sections 109, 209, and 203, every section seemed to be only 25% full at most.

Hope ticket sales really start to pick up fast!

Hoping for early games if we proceed so I can at least see them on TV.

Your boss doesn't know you're a JMU fan? Heck, he should expect you to go to the game...

Probably would not be a good career move. 05-nono

I don't think we'd sell out the stadium if we hosted the Semi's

Playoff games don't generally do the same amount as regular season games.

The time of the year, weather, short notice all come into play...

Weather-dependent a little bit, but I actually think attendance would build each of the three weeks IF the Dukes were to stay in it much like it did in '08 (Wofford small crowd T'giving, Villanova a little better, then a great crowd for Montana). The students are still there on the 12th if McNeese loses to SHSU and they'd be more interested after a win this weekend. And if by some miracle we stayed home again for the semi, even without the students, the overall interest in the run at that point would be enormous again from alums and locals (and more students would stay for that one than the Villanova game last week). A home semi would also require Citadel, CSU, or most likely Chatty to be the opponent, all of which would presumably sell some tickets at a good clip themselves as the game would be accessible and the run would mean the world to each of those fanbases (think of our turnouts at W&M and in Chatty in '04).

Just keep rootin'!

Yeah, I don't get that; I bought in 203 around Noon or so today and the lady on the phone had a very limited selection for three adjoining seats -- despite the fact that the seating chart on the 'net showed plenty of available seats.

There are always excuses for attendance issues.....it too hot, it's too sunny. It's playoff football of course it's gonna be colder.

There is ZERO excuse for that stadium NOT to be packed this weekend. The students are there (not against a break, UVA/VT are not playing) they should be out in force for this game. It's a $5 tickets for god's sake. And this is not particularly short notice for this game. It has been known for 2 weeks.

I was not able to be there but wasn't that the game with a KR touchdown, a pick 6 and a fumble return for a score? Sounds really boring.

Boring?
Wow, Not sure what they expected...With all that was going on that day....Knowing that if JMU won they had high probablity of a seed, that if the Ticks won vs Tribe that JMU would co champ the CAA just to set the stage...then first Play the Kick Return for TD. I mean damn didnt they even pay attention to the Cheerleaders. who were throwing stunts , jumping up and down in excitement Streamers FLYING in the first few minutes, then Villanova marched down the field...then of course the rest of the game as stated above...
I mean its football Defensive games are boring..Offense puts a thrill into it We had both...We wont see another VAD Lee for a while but the concept I believe Withers is working on is Fast Paced offense , high scoring , gives excitement which brings fans...Add some defensive turnovers add more excitement.
I have been to all the GAMES this year except for 2, (Elon, and Towson) and NONE of them have been boring JMU for better or for worse has kept us on the seat of our pants in each of the games. wether it was dictated by the Refs (W&M) or the excitement of the GAMEDAY Loss to Richmond.
I have been a JMU fan for only 4 years now since my Daughter is a Senior Cheerleader (Im a Penn Stater myself) what a better senior year could she have had so far... but This has been FAR and AWAY the MOST EXCITING season for a fan with the most thrills I have experienced from being a JMU fan. And am pretty pumped up for the playoffs.
So im not really sure what JMU13 friends were expecting but in the famous words of Keyshon Johnson "COM'on MAN"
Its FCS football and JMU IS EXCITING !

(sorry for the rant, just had to do it)

GO DUKES!

RE: 2015 FCS Playoff Attendance
CSU (4k permanent seats, no additional temp seating, several k overflow told to bring lawn chairs). In order to be a seed which is a guarantee of hosting at least 1 game there ought to be some sort of minimum facilities/seating recquirement. Something like around 8k, which could include temp seating. I imagine that would cover 80-90% of the schools from the 7 full scholly AQ conferences and most of the Patriot as well. Literally anyone who was short of 8k could get to 8k with temp seating. If that were the case this year CSU would have had to have pledged to have 4k in temp seating in place to get capacity to 8k by 12/5, or they would have been removed from seeding consideration, which would then likely have gone to UTC or the Citadel, both beautiful 21k facilities.

I know in the CAA by next year only 1 falls under Albany''s 8k is URI at 5200 permanent (and we all might die before they ever we a seed lol). UNH's new stadium will open next season. Their current one lists only a 6500 capacity. But they had temp endzone in both endzones that I believe brought it to around 10-12k, which is what their new stadium will hold.
