If we take advantage of Georgetown's propensity to turn the ball over (and don't do so ourselves - having Talley will impact this greatly) and get them into foul trouble, we win, and maybe convincingly.

If this turns into a game where the number of possessions are more limited and we don't score off turnovers, we will struggle to beat their defense in the halfcourt and their frontcourt will win them this game.

What's the best way to beat a team with 7-0, 275 lbs. big? Run and press them to death. I like our chances.

Maybe Gettys gets in the game? If not he should really consider his options if he has not already. I don't see a place for him on this team and I think it gets even harder next year for him to get on the floor. I am not a huge supporter of transfers but I think he should go if wants to play college basketball. Maybe a Big South team or D2?

It's possible CJ is content to be here. Transferring would mean playing for his 3rd different coach, and he's already sat out a redshirt year.

RE: Georgetown
Interesting reading the Hoya message boards. We were overlooked last week, as they concerned themselves with Syracuse, then Monmouth and Charlotte. In the last day, a few posters have done some research, and they've changed their tune.

I would have been very concerned about a beat down from G'town last year. We didn't have balanced scoring, didn't have a post game, and didn't have multiple 3 point threats. Offensively, we are a different(better) team than last year by far. Even if we get into spells of a half court game, I think we have enough weapons to keep scoring. I can't see us being held in the 50's.

My biggest concern will be scoring on the drive. They have really good size , and we've scored a lot on the drive against teams that couldn't stop us. Also, rebounding. Our offensive rebounding has also been huge, and G'town could pose a problem. However, a smaller Radford team beat them on the boards.

We may not win, but i'd be surprised if we lost by more than 10. Should be close.

If he is content, that is great for him personally but for basketball if he is content that says it all. I would hope he wants to play and is being realistic with himself. I think this style is not him and he will not play.

If all UNCW fans in attendance for this game don't wear Ric Flair sunglasses & wigs, I will be highly disappointed.

I believe C.J. graduates this year. Maybe even after this semester. Which means he could transfer as a graduate and play right away.

Washington Post says we lose on Saturday....but as long as we remain unbeaten, they will have to keep talking about us!

When college basketball’s 10 undefeated teams will likely lose

Here's an interesting take on UNCW and on the game with Georgetown from "The Casual Hoya":

Sleeping with the Enemy: The Seahawks of UNC-Wilmington

My favorite quote:

Calipari went to UNCW before transferring to something called Clarion which I assume has a hotel management and hair gel concentration.

Can UNCW slip past Georgetown in order to remain undefeated?

Love the confidence from Grundy in his interview. Expecting to win. That's the mindset we need to have, and keep, when entering an 18,000-seat arena.

Hawks a big underdog now at + 12. I'd take that bet if I were betting and if Talley/Sherwood can play and be effective. Maybe I'm a homer but I'm beginning to believe in his system and the team. They may be young, but their not "that young". Go Hawks!!!

Here is 247Sports' preview of today's matchup. We will know that UNCW is starting to get respect when stories like this finally stop referring to us a "UNC-Wilimington", in the same way they don't refer to UCLA as "UC-Los Angeles"

RE: Georgetown
This preview by the "Sports Xchange" is a little better - if only because they dropped the hyphen and merely refer to UNCW as "UNC Wilmington"

Preview: UNC Wilmington at Georgetown

Interestingly they are predicting that Georgetown will win, but UNCW will beat the point spread.

Actually not. There are plenty of examples on non-power conference schools that use and get recognized by the preferred, non hyphenated names. UNLV and IUPUI come immediately to mind.

We can't be lazy on our passes or moves to the bucket. The Hoyas are big and aggressive. They'll take our weak stuff and hurt with it. Chuck needs to two had slam an open dunk like he had.
