Until two weeks ago I thought Ark St had the most down to earth fanbase in the conference after asuwon and Ruston I guess we all have those fans.
Congrats by the way I hope you represent the confernce well in the bowl.
Well, we had a record number of injuries last year, particularly on the defensive line. We couldn't stop a marching band. We had people playing out of position and redshirt freshmen.
I know you lost your center during the game. What other injuries did you have for our game this year that compares?
I see this "injury" comparison thrown out but it smells fishy to me since I don't see any way App could have been that riddled with injuries or it would have been mentioned pre-game.
That said....I don't think we would have beaten App last year if we had been relatively healthy. ULL didn't beat them. We didn't take App seriously and got out game-planned and out-adjusted. We just flat out got out-coached and beat. Injuries provide no cover for what I saw.
Convince me that injuries are why you lost. I didn't see that on my tv either.

Explained that a few weeks ago. AState injuries last year irrelevant, everyone else's means games marked in the standings with an * unless they win.

RE: Meet The New Boss
RT went down at some point in the GS game, likely an all conference player before the injury, we hope to get him back by the bowl. The pressure Ark St was able to put on Lamb coming from his right side was evident in the first half.
Second half of the game one offensive lineman was playing in position. LG was playing center (one hopping the snap 50% of the time), RG was playing RT. I don't have to tell you how important Oline timing is for a run first team.
Also we are in year two of transition, depth has not been established and the drop off from first to second team is greater than I hope it will be next year or the following.
I think both programs will be glad not to have to play each other next year for a title run, although I'd like Ark St to be our permanent partner if the SBC goes that route.

RE: Meet The New Boss
Congrats to Ark stAte this year. They took the OOC hits early in the season but turning it around and going undefeated (more than likely) in conference is admirable. App's schedule next year sort of mirrors what stAte's looked like this year with a couple of P5's but nobody as strong as Toledo. So hopefully we come away with the same results if not better.
I will be pulling for GaSou and stAte in the bowl games, hoping that they beat the living crap out of whoever they play.

Georgia Southern keeps a constant neverending low boil of BS. They know it is BS and use it as a tactic and for the lulz.
App State BS tends to appear only during times of stress and when it does, it is epic and they don't appear to realize that it's BS.
We can only thank the Lord that we invited them both so that they can, for the most part, keep each other occupied.
Well this was fun.....and then GSU Eagles showed up.
(11-29-2015 01:57 PM)ark30inf Wrote: Our "not worth talking about" history is one of "you will never".
At one point we were the low man of the Arkansas Intercollegiate Conference. The powers of that conference, UCA, SAU, UAM, etc. basically decided that our conference games would all be away games. We said we would leave, they said we had no place to go. We went independent anyway. They said we would never be able to make it as an independent.....where are we now? Where are they? We were THE most unlikely of that bunch to be where we are now.
When we entered the Southland the powers were UTA and Lamar. What happened to their programs? Where are we?
We were told it was impossible for us to survive in FBS and that we would be forced to drop in a few years. Could...not...be....done. Impossible.
When we did survive we were told that it was impossible for us to ever actually do anything in FBS. That we should drop back to the Southland where we might win a conference championship here and there.
You'll never win an FBS conference championship. You'll never have a winning record. You'll never go to a bowl game. You'll never win a bowl game. You'll never beat a P5 team. On and on.
And we got where we are with a powerful, popular, P5 school with a monopoly doing everything it could to kill us. To the extent of publicly opposing our university status in the Legislature.
You can discount us as just a 5-year long fluke if you want. But we're more like you than initial appearances might indicate.
Noticed that for a while. There's definitely a lot of similarities there.
Although I think it was you who said we were insane, so I guess we're a bit crazier than you guys.

I do look for your team to show up, and give 100%, and i do expect they will get their butts kicked anyway the Wolves want to kick it. They are simply that much better than GaSo, and that is not going to change by next year.
Now 3-4 years down the road might be a different story, but not next year.
You better hope someone hires their coaches, because that is probably your only hope, and that will probably not be enough.
Forgot to say enjoy your off season, and create any imaginary 'next season' you want for your imaginary team, but A-State will still be the most talented team in the SBC in 2016, and it is not as close as you think, and it was not that close this year.
Making a spreadsheet of the number of Rivals 2 and 3 star recruits on a roster does not make you an authority on talent. I assume that's what you are doing because I can't imagine how else someone who admits they don't actually watch SBC games can evaluate relative talent level.
Your calling App State a glorified FCS team shows how little you know. If they are a glorified FCS so are at least 80% of G5 teams. You will see that if you watch App play (I presume) one of those top MAC teams in one of the Alabama bowls.
Same thing with Georgia Southern. You should also take note that Matt Breida, arguably the best player in the Sun Belt and one of the top backs in the G5 was also a two-star rivals player and wasn't pursued by many FBS teams if any.
