RE: Facilities Arms Race
Yea, CajunFanatico, we will be getting a brand new grandstand in the eleven million dollar range. Net increase in seating capacity of six hundred. There are new features for the fairly new metal side line bleachers that will make them concrete ready for the future.
Robe, is a great coach, he is making sure that the Teague experience is not lost to size, and the long time fans will have first options on retaining or improving their seating.
Cajun Dome being renovated to make it a better experience for the fans, moving the bottom bleachers closer to the court. New lighting, new video board. Right now, my wife has mobility issues, and I have great handicapped seats along the bottom of the second level for wheel chairs scooters and mobility issues. I thought my basketball days were over, but clearly I've got as long as I can drive a auto and scooter.
Plans to build a new basketball practice facility.
Of course the new upper deck at Cajun Field, and completion of the NEZ seating.

I have a question about this. Why is Louisiana expanding their seating when they seem to have plenty of seats currently. Why expand when there isn't really a need?

We are putting in a new video board at Clements Stadium. It's not the best baseball facility in the Belt, but I think it's really cool.

I think they are doing it to make room for fans. When they tear down the top section at Cajun Field, with the new PressBox and top deck the capacity will be lower then what it is now.
Plus it would look so much nicer if they had seats around the stadium. That would be my guess

Are we getting a real outfield wall? Can't believe we still have a chain link fence

I like the parking available in right field for the crawfish and shrimp boat captains. Scott Farmer doesn't miss anything.

The FOC did drain a lot of people, but it was worth it.

That's awesome, I noticed there was a lot of room for improvements on that side of the stadium.

I just want to get rid of that stinking track!
Is the land where the old Watauga High School available as a site for a new track facility? It's not too far off campus and seems like a perfectly reasonable spot for our T&F teams to train & compete.
Yes it is and a lot of us have pushing that idea for years. App had been willed the old Edminston Farm and when the university sold it to Watauga County for the new high school a lot of people were asking why didn't we just do a land swap to create our version of CofC's Patriot's Point. Peacock told me the county had it way over valued, but I think he should have held their feet to the fire on it. It's my understanding Gillin is aggressively pursuing it now. Interesting tidbit. Peacock wanted to build a new 40,000 seat stadium out there. It's a beautiful site and would have made an awesome place for a stadium. Think he didn't get much support from the state on building a connector road over to 321.

Jesus!!! The man's name is G-I-L-L-I-N. he's been here long enough now for at least all App fans to get it straight.
