Besides, it's Diesel -- who died not too long ago. All dogs who go to heaven at least get a treat now and again, right?? :)

I love the fact that the weather in DeKalb is in your heads every time you visit.

Well of course we care. We have the option of running or passing, while you have a QB who couldn't hit a stationary tire swing at ten yards.

But seriously, that $hithole you play in is a wind tunnel in the middle of baron patch of scrub. I've seen officials removing tumbleweeds from the playing field. Our coach needs to know how much hair gel to apply so as not to mess up "his look."

The rulebook says the tumbleweeds are part of the field.

It always seems like the opposing QB handles the wind better than our own QB at Huskie stadium. so that's a concern. It might be so bad neither team can throw much. Should keep the score down somewhat.

So, is tomorrow a heavy hair product day or not?

25-35 mph with gusts over 50. It's gonna be nuts.

I just saw a headline that said O'Hare airport has shutdown five of its main runways because of the wind gusts. It's going to be crazy tonight, even by DeKalb standards.

That's the storm that came through here yesterday and this morning. High profile vehicles were being flipped.

Just wonderful. At least it isn't supposed to rain.

I'm reminded of a game we played against EMU some years back. Neither team wanted to throw it apparently. We barely won, in a low scoring game.

National weather service says winds for tonight will be 15-20 mph with gusts over 25.

If this game were played this Saturday, we could've been looking at a Snow Bowl.

RE: You all ready for Wednesday?
I don't see much of a home field advantage as I doubt they'll be much of a crowd.

I do think a game that is primarily run dominated favors NIU. Western has better backs, but NIU showed against UT that they could stop elite backs, especially when they knew they wanted to run first.

It's imparative that we get others involved in the passing game to loosen up the run D. Short crossing routes, bubble screens, check downs the RBs should be doable even in gale force winds. Short passes to the TE would have to catch them off guard as we never throw to the TE.

Franklin could have some utility on bubble screens. Hes good for yards after the catch.

NIU is 21st in the nation for rushing, WMU is 78th against the rush. We have to step up or they'll control the TOP.

Drake Lamont's dad is doing the game again for ESPN. Not sure we've won a game that he's done.

NIU has not lost a game in November since 2009
