1. New Orleans likely takes AState this year to play Southern Miss. It would be a rematch of the 2005 New Orleans Bowl which was played in Lafayette because of Katrina, and is one of those that could bring some press.

2. Go Daddy sees that the champ is not available and goes for the team with the next best record. That is App State.

3. Camelia must decide between Georgia Southern or USA/ULL. They let the Eagles go to Cure, and take their chances on a better crowd from the other two.

4. Georgia Southern willingly and happily goes to Orlando to beat up on some poor AAC Schmuck.

5. Either USA or ULL is left n the cold and hoping for an open tie in.

No one at 6 gets left out this year barring some big rallies.
GaSo will most likely play a MAC in Orlando.

It's actually not outside the realm of possibility that a 5-7 team goes bowling if the right winds of fate blow in just the right direction.

And the Cure Bowl has ties with the AAC, not the MAC. And USF just became bowl eligible, so a GSU/USF matchup would probably bring a nice crowd.

The AAC is not going to fill the Cure Bowl (their last tie in) if they go to the Peach Bowl. This is because WITH the Peach Bowl, they would have 8 tie ins, and they are very likely to only get 7 or fewer teams eligible. This means it is very likely the Cure Bowl will NOT be an AAC team. They would need to have 2 of the following teams get bowl eligible to fill it IF they make the Peach Bowl:

Tulsa 76.0%
East Carolina 34.8%
Connecticut 24.5%

Notice Schlabach has a MAC team going to Orlando, while McMurphy has a CUSA:

I didn't even think about the Peach Bowl. I stand corrected then.

I have a hard time understanding that attitude. Our first ever bowl game in the first year of eligibility and people are whining about possibly having to go to Montgomery? Some of our fans have lost their minds.
My group is in for any bowl at any place. Obviously, we'd prefer one that is the most convenient since the NO Bowl is likely out of reach.

AAC part dealt with.
The NCAA will make a list of the five 5-7 teams with the highest APR. Once all 6-6 and better are dealt with bowls can fill in from any team on the list. As it looks now that list will be dominated by Big 10 teams (Nebraska will likely be the top APR 5-7) the Big 10 may be short in 2 or 3 bowls so they probably get 5-7 Big 10 teams. Unlikely a 5-7 P5 goes to Cure to be on CBS Sports when they can go to an ESPN bowl.

62 teams are bowl eligible right now.
16 more teams need 1 more win.
1 team needs 2 more wins.
14 teams need 3 more wins.

34 teams are ineligible right now

Need 80 teams to fill bowls.

I'd rather not go to Mobile just because App plays USA there on Dec 5th and it wouldn't be that special going to the same place you were just at two weeks before.

Regardless I'm going to have a great time wherever App goes.

Wow, Saragin thinks Georgia State will beat USA and Troy will beat ULL?

Georgia State and Troy are ranked ahead of USA and ULL in most computer rankings that I've seen.

If you saw ULL's record and schedule but didn't know they were a recent top team, would you be surprised at their low ranking?

The composite computer ranking from Massey doesn't back that statement up. It has USA then ULL then Troy then GSU.

I hope South Gets a win this week to get eligible That lost to Texas State and the collapse to Arkansas State is going to come back and haunt us. I don't want it to come down beating Georgia Southern or App State.

As will ours. This is something I've been waiting on for 40 years. Good Lord willing, no way I miss this deal.

Amen. Just put us in a bowl somewhere. GS fans will go wherever it is. What we are hearing is that the 2 most likely for us are the Camillia or Cure Bowls. I ll take either one
