RE: 2016 Football Schedule
The old "two-fer" schedule. It seems we had one of those a few years ago, with all home and away games coming in pairs.

...and, yes, I'm sure the CAA will make up for it by giving us another schedule with five teams coming off byes next year.

If we're not 8-2 or better going into the UR game, I'll be shocked.

2016 Football Schedule
Not much of a home schedule next year. First and last of the 5 are most interesting. Delaware might be a good homecoming. It would be moronic not to nurture the relationship with both HU and NSU. That goes for as many sports as possible. It fits in nicely with the Hampton Roads metroplex concept.

I disagree.

Four of the five games should have good attendance.

The home game with Elon last year was 17-7, and I've sat through home losses to Maine, Delaware, and Richmond.

If the permanent annual opponents are Richmond, JMU, Elon, Delaware, Towson, and UNH, get used to CAA home schedules every other year of Richmond, Delaware, Elon, and one more, and every other year of JMU, UNH, Towson, and one more.

I'd trade Elon or Towson on that permanent opponents for Villanova in a heartbeat.

Anyone know why UNH is a permanent opponent?

This was a stranger year on attendance. Five home games, who would have predicted the two smallest totals of the five would be Family weekend (rain) and JMU (Halloween).

On Hampton and Norfolk State, it would be more exciting if they actually were competitive games (they're not) or if they actually traveled to Zable with some fans (they don't). So why not Liberty, get VMI back, a SoCon team or an Ivy like Princeton, Harvard, Penn, etc. if we want the excitement of Hampton Roads, schedule ODU.

On 2016, I was surprised we didn't set Maine as HC.

Would NC State shutter their athletics program if we beat them in their football opener next year?

RE: 2016 Football Schedule
It's rare for Homecoming to be the final weekend in October. It usually falls on one of the middle weekends (better chance for good weather and we have a bye on one of those weekends), so Delaware it is.

That is an interesting hypothesis. Let's test it!

It surely will make for good Press and interesting speculation leading up to the FIRST Football game of the season for both teams, considering what just happened in the FIRST Basketball Game of the season for both teams!!

With Latrell Scott now the HC at Norfolk State, their stock will rise fast, as he gets his players. Will not be an easy out going forward.

RE: 2016 Football Schedule
For anyone wanting to plan now for NC State next year, I stayed at the Comfort Suites Friday night. Within spitting distance of the stadium. Very good pub/restaurant/sports bar right next door. Smaller, quiet hotel, with breakfast and able to avoid parking/traffic. Imagine it books early. Only other hotel less than a mile is a lower class Ramada.

Good tip. Reservations made for September 2. I hope there's a decent turnout of the Tribe faithful. Of course, after our deep run in this year's playoffs, there should be plenty of residual enthusiasm.

W&M had a ticket/bus/lunch package going down to NC State the last time we played them
in football...roundtrip the same day. I imagine we'll have the same next season.

Assume tipoff time for game will be 6pm. Same time as their first couple of home games this year.

RE: 2016 Football Schedule
Time will depend if the game is on tv or not; if on television then game time will depend on tv time slot.
