Quote:We have a better team this year than last.
On offense, we do. Our D can step up, and it can be scored on. That's one thing I worry about when facing good Os.
Quote:Remember that we lost to UT in OT on a missed xp last year.
True. I don't think Toledo's much better (good then, good now; but their QB kinda sucks). However, missed XP -- that can still happen and is a concern. Haldeman can nail a 42 yard FG, but he's capable of missing an easy layup or XP once in a while. But you point out that yes, as far as Toledo & NIU are concerned -- there should be no expectations that we're some solid underdogs or anything, no. My take is that the advantage leans their way, mainly being in their house. And unless you're CMU, NIU does Very Well in their house.
Quote:We had NIU down at half and forgot to come out for the second half.
Yes and no. NIU makes adjustments and can shut people down. They did that against Toledo this past game, and they did it to us at the end of the year last year. So one has to give credit to them too on that, as it wasn't just purely us falling asleep at the wheel. With their backup QB and their #1/#2 WR out, they Came Back to beat @Toledo. Quite impressive.
Quote:No reason we don't win out and go to Detroit for the MACC.
There's no reason we can't compete for it and be in the real running for it, yeah. But there's no reason we should think we're in the same position BGSU is, in the West. There's no reason we should expect to go 3-0 in the big 3 games.... there's no reason to expect we should go 0-3 either. Point being, I don't see it as a "We're up Here, they're down There".
BGSU is a 4.5pt favorite, in Kalamazoo. I see that as a reasonable POV.
