I'll take it straight to their Indian Casino, haha. Nah. I'm not a gambler. Interesting comment though.

You really think Toledo drops a game to CMU, handing them the MAC West crown? A team that did play tough OOC, but couldn't hold on to beat Syracuse? I think Toledo has already beaten 2, maybe 3 teams better than Cuse. No doubt all MAC battles will be tough, but do you think CMU is the best team in the West? All because of what? NIU fell apart up there?

The good news for both of us is that MD is typically wrong

CMU has the best QB in the West, and the schedule worked out great for them getting NIU and Toledo at home. Of course as we all know by now, the West most of the time comes down to scheduling, and CMU has the big games at their place.

We are definite UNDERDOGS. We are now +8. Tough spot Tuesday, Toledo is loaded, we have to have all -3- units play best game of year. Especially special teams.

Nobody has talked Toledo up more than you. Matt Campbell is quoting you to recruits.

They are a friggin top 20 team, we could all say UT sucks, but why turn your head on that. They obviously are a good team, you can hate Toledo and still realize they have a hell of a team.

Thus far they are a top 20 team. Still quite a few games left. And if you were NIU's coach you'd surrender to Toledo faster than Quisling.

MD you need to chill out. NIU has a realistic shot.
A victory against Toledo is worth more than a victory against Boston College.
This is the game of the year.

Just a realistic shot? NIU went into Columbus and went toe to toe with the Buckeyes. The Huskies have one of the most talented teams in the nation. Toledo has a nice squad, there is no doubt about that, but do NIU fans really think we can't hang with the Rockets when we did with OSU and BC?

This isn't the game of the year, though. That was the Ohio State game. It was against the number one team in the nation and was featured prominently on Saturday afternoon on network television. A victory there would have catapulted NIU into the top twenty and given the Huskies the inside track for the G5 bid.

I am not sure if Ohio State was the game of the year to the coaching staff though. A part of me thinks this team got deflated after that Ohio state game when maybe they were not given a chance to win that game.

The G5 bid was possible and all.... then BC happened, then CMU happened again.

Your 7 point loss is one that will help Toledo if we barely sneak by you. "Toledo only won by 3 at home, but Ohio State only beat the Huskies by a TD." We need all the help we can get because that ball is still in our court if we run the table and win the MACC. (Like 5% chance to do that)

NIU will be in every game this year no doubt. But I think this one is the most important to date because it's where the MAC West Title hangs in the balance. NIU loses Tuesday, and they're going to the Camellia bowl and finishing somewhere between 2nd and 4th in West.

You're just sad that NIUs gonna make this back to back to back to back to back to back in the west

First off, congrats on a great Rocket season thus far. It's nice to see another MAC team making national headlines.

As for the "game of the year", it comes down to personal opinion. For some, the conference title is the objective. I don't dismiss that as unimportant, however, my rooting interest is in getting back to a major bowl game. If that goal is not achieved, the season is a disappointment. I understand that it is pie in the sky stuff, but I'm not sure it's any different than hoping for a Super Bowl victory for your NFL team. That stuff doesn't come around every season for most fans.

At the least, it's nice to keep the dream alive deep into the season. As a Huskie fan, we've now had that happen twice, and it's pretty cool to get excited to see the polls come out each week and see the progress.

I am a Packers fan so I get to see runs more than most other fan bases. Call me lucky? I am actually the anti chicago fan... Green Bay, Detroit Tiger, Detroit Red Wings, and Toledo Rockets. All sense birth. Dont give a rats arse about the NBA. Have a few Steve Nash Jerseys from the Suns though?

And yep, it's pretty cool. I hope the run continues this week. Besides 2012, this is the best chance I feel we have against the Huskies. Best o luck.

Toledo was and is NIU greatest FB rivalry since the Joe Novak era.

A victory against Toledo means more to many NIU FB fans than a victory over a non-ranked B1G team.

This year Toledo is like a top 4 B1G team.

Keep the win streak against Toledo alive !
A sixpeat is what I want this year against Toledo and maybe in the MCC game in Detroit as well in that order.

A victory against Toledo means more to me than a victory against a ranked Maryland team on National Television or a victory against a ranked Alabama team at Alabama.

If this were rewinding back to NIU's first championship season against Ohio and NIU was looking to bust through with a MAC championship, then I would agree with your above statement, but I don't think I would trade either of those wins for a win against a ranked Toledo team this year.
