Minnesota's Interim Coach is incompetent!
1st and goal from the 1/2 yard line with 19 seconds to go and you get just one terrible play and WASTE all but 2 seconds, then go for it on 4th down (instead of going for the tie) and run another terrible play against a stacked D! Start clearing your office big fella. Maybe the worst time management I've seen in a long time. With 1 timeout left, should have been able to run 3, maybe 4 plays.

Are you kidding me? He's filled in for Kill before. He's just clueless! He had time during the review of the completed pass to get organized.

Claeys served as Interim for seven games in '13 when Kill had to take a Leave so this isn't his first time.

But he is a Defensive Coordinator by trade, not an Offensive coach, if that had anything to do with it.

What's all the hoopla about regarding the Minn Coach?

Calls were made and execution was had throughout the drive.

Harbaugh was frantically trying to call a timeout when Minny shifted. A clear indication that Claey's or whoever made the call baited UM into a scheme and exposed it.

I understand the results don't fit desire.

Color commentator made note and I don't know for a fact if Minny knew the clock was to be wound down hence the losing of time. But still had two chances, Scum was lucky on the first one and Minny could have executed better on the last one.

Anyway, its not like this is Illinois or if anyone would care about them.

Claeys made the decision to go for win instead of tying FG and OT.

Didn't get desired result.

You can debate decision and-or play call but if Gophers score this thread would not exist or be singing his praises for beating Michigan-Harbaugh.

All I'm saying is he cost his team 1 chance, or maybe 2, to win the game. Poorly managed final 19 seconds. 2 passes in to end zone, 1 run, use timeout, then do your 4th down thing. No problem with going for the win on 4th down.

RE: Minnesota's Interim Coach is incompetent!
I agree with going for the win and not kicking the field goal but terrible clock management and a terrible play call at the end. Easily should have had 3 chances to score the TD had they done proper clock management. They had one time out left after that pass to the one yard line.

1st and goal with 19 seconds left.
- Run attempt, time out.
2nd and goal with 10 seconds left.
- Pass into the end zone. Incomplete
3rd and goal with ~5 seconds left.
- Pass/Run, w/e. Ball game.

RE: Minnesota's Interim Coach is incompetent!
Two things:

(a) Kool being a Walmart Wolverine is just pathetic. Sick. I was in shock and awe looking at his twitter. WOW. Just crazy.

(b) Minnesota's HC wanted to be hero to win the game to get a full time job there. What a complete dumba$$. Ruined it to prevent multiple plays at the end, and after that deciding to go for it. Wow. Just Wow. As crazy as Kool being a UM fan.
