On what and what?

Exactly. This is not on ESPN or Fox or CBS or NBC. It will be televised on a regional ad hoc network and streamed on something called Campus Insiders. Not much of a bowl game. Hopefully the payout will be decent.

Lol at this coming from a Texas state and ulm fan. Y'all should be happy there's additional bowls. Plenty of teams would be happy to go to it.

Why play the game at all? Every bowl game is nationally televised, most of them on ESPN. This is the only bowl game that is not nationally televised. Streaming on Campus Insiders? Is that a joke? It is the equivalent of watching a bowl game on ESPN3.

One of the great things about a bowl game is being televised on ESPN. It is a three hour infomercial for the school. It is great exposure for the football program. That is what UL, AState and USA got with their bowl appearances last season on ESPN. Playing a football game on Wednesday night in Tucson without TV is not appealing.

Seriously . . .. A bowl NOT on National Television, but streamed on the internets . . .

This then, will be the bowl that TX ST draws . . . . We'll win 4 of our last 5 to finish the year 6-6. . . . . and then we'll sit back and wait for our invite to this internets fiasco . . . . .

Larry, our AD, will call it:" A wonderful opportunity for the Texas State community" "A real feather in our caps." Forgetting that it won't be on TV, in a prepared statement, he'll encourage those who can't be at the game to watch it on television. . . .

Fran will call it: "A glorious opportunity/reward for our players." "A chance for our program to showcase itself to a national audience."

Ah look at you ... bringing up something that has nothing to do with the topic at hand.

If ULL got stuck playing in that game, there would be choruses of loud complaints from Cajun land...

FIU lost to FAU and is currently 4-5 and doesn't look good for 6 wins. They have three games remaining and only one looks winnable - Charlotte. Winning at Marshall and Western Kentucky isn't likely. If FIU finishes with 5 wins, CUSA will not have enough teams to fill their bowl slots and we'll get the Arizona Bowl bid 04-cheers

Actually, we still have a chance for seven teams to be eligible. Marshall, WKU, USM, and LaTech are already eligible. The rest are like this:

Rice has the best chance as they sit at 4-4 with remaining games with UTEP, USM, UTSA, and Charlotte. They only need to split. They will be our fifth eligible team.

Middle has a decent shot as well. They are 3-5 with a HUGE game against us this weekend. If we beat them, MTSU could beat UNT, UTSA, and FAU. There's #6.

UTEP is the long shot. At 3-5, they need three wins among Rice, ODU, LaTech, and UNT. LaTech is a likely loss, but they can beat ODU and UNT. They have Rice at home, so the upset is possible. That would be our 7th.

Again, not likely, but if a couple of key things happen, not outside the realm of possibility. Most likely, we get 5 for sure. I would say 50% chance of 6, and a 15% chance of 7.

Let the players, coaches, band, cheerleaders, staff and fans go out to Arizona and sight see, get some bowl swag and get some extra practice time for the upcoming season. That's really what these mid level bowls are all about. If I'm a player I'd rather be in Arizona than Montgomery, Mobile, Shreveport or Dallas. New Orleans and Orlando would be better.

I can definitely see the fans issue with a non televised game.

Going to Shreveport has its advantages in that it is the Independence Bowl and big schools play in the Independence Bowl. For casual fans that will mean something. It has been a New Years Eve night game and a national game.

As far as the Arizona Bowl, does it help legitimize ASN as a sports outlet since they will be airing a bowl, just like the big boys do??? Might help them get in more markets.

UTEP (4-5) beat Rice today and is now unfortunately in pretty good shape to grab the 7th and final CUSA bowl spot (Arizona Bowl). The Miners have come on strong to fill the final spot
