RE: App attendance today?
I hated to miss yesterday. Missed my first game since 2005 last night. My grandmother passed away and her funeral was Saturday morning. So I just couldn't get in the mindset to go.
Fans will always leave early. They leave early everywhere you just can't tell as much if there are 60,000 people there.

App fans like to talk about our "passionate and dedicated" fan base. The reality is we have a core of about 15K fans who are there every game. The rest are social fans. The students who sit between the 30's are incredible, but they need to stop with the "nice kick A--hole" when the opposing team kicks off. Pretty low class. But what is incredibly disappinting and perplexing is to see fans, not just students, head for the gates at the half. This was a 7 point game at the half and people were leaving in droves. And you can forget that whole "it was parents weekend" stuff, because this has been going on for years. They show up well into the 1st quarter and if it sprinkles a bit or turns cold they are outta there. I'm happy Al Groh chastised our fans on ESPN7 for walking out at the half. Even more unbelieveable is people leaving during the OT's. Until our fans show up before pregame and stay until the clock reads 0:00 - REGUARDLESS OF WEATHER - they do not deserve to be labeled "passionate and dedicated".
BTW, I don't ask anything that I don't do myself. I've been a season ticket for almost 40 years and can count the number of games I've missed during those 37 years on one hand. I've left ONE game before the clock read 0:00 that was because I was sick as a dog and didn;t want to make others sick. I've sat through monsoon rains, cold, sleet and snow. If you come prepared there's no issues.
I have to make a comment here. Some of my friends and I started the "You suck A******" chant on the opposing kickoff a few years back and it has continuously grown. I hate you have an issue with it but you're likely a bit older. Think back to your college days when you had a little alcohol in your system. It's a good laugh and I highly doubt the other teams are getting terribly bent out of shape about a comment on the kickoff off all things. Take it for what it is and let the student section enjoy their "college days." Go Apps, beat StAte.

RE: App attendance today?
As a hard core football fan I share frustrations about fans leaving early. But you know what? It is their money and they have the right to come when they please and leave when they like. I stopped getting worked up about it many years ago. I am just glad that they pay for tickets and hope that year to year they keep coming back. Also, condolences to you asu7 on your loss.

Doesn't matter if a number don't stay, as long as they paid to get in that's money in the programs pocket and if someone watches at the start they see those 26k fans if they watch at the end, past this game it's been close to blow outs always and so someone passing through games on ESPN3 would just say oh yea they already won and not think about the attendence

Nearly all schools have a problem with this. Coach Nick Saban of Alabama in one of his pressers last season called the students to task for leaving early and not staying showing full support for the Crimson Tide.
