Some of what I have seen/heard
Tornado was on the ground for 20 minutes
San Marcos River flooded on campus, main road stadium is on
Schools on lockdown with kids there
TXST closed until noon
Same river that flooded back in May close to flooding again over same road
storm has moved off towards Austin but this area was just saturated last week

Woah, that's a lot of water... Any deaths/injuries from the tornado?

On a side note, Anyone know if Fran went for a morning run today... Maybe the flood washed him down to UTSA

Just for you guys not familiar with the area, this isn't a picture of the river. It's just a road that goes around campus that has turned into a river.

Saw where Wimberley had 7.16 inches but that was about an hour ago
Lots of flooding going on yet people are still driving in it. Stay the hell where you are folks.
Following KXAN, twitter and Facebook posts, pictures and videos. It's fairly wide spread.
Saw pictures of structure damage from the tornado but no injuries/deaths yet. Likely (and sadly) will be some folks that didn't just pull over and sit it out that get drug into rushing water. They always do that in TX.

Did Texas State offend mother nature at some point in the last year?

RE: Stay safe TXST
On the serious side, they are evacuating whole developments between SM and ATX. An area NW of SM has had over 13 inches so far, plus areas of SM being evacuated. This is a really slow moving system.

The City has evacuated residents along the Blanco & San Marcos Rivers. More info to follow soon. Calls have been issued to evacuated areas.

Funny thing is I stopped by my old fraternity house Saturday and told the current actives I wanted to see the house one more time before the Blanco river ended up wrecking it again.

During the Memorial Day flood earlier this year, the Blanco River crested at 43 in San Marcos. Jim Spencer (KXAN) says it is expected to go over 45 feet and as high as 48-50 feet. It is already over Interstate 35.

RE: Stay safe TXST
Was up there this morning, heading for the DFW area . . . . Got between San Marcos and Kyle when it became obvious we weren't going any further . . . .

No traffic was coming down 35 Southbound . . . . Northbound lanes were like a parking lot . . Access roads were starting to look like rivers . .. Visibility was about nonexistent . . . .

Hit an exit and managed to get back on 35 South. . . . . Didn't realize how bad things were between SM and Austin til I got home and turned on the weather channel. . . . Fugly . . .

Hope everyone up there is safe. . . God knows it's about the last thing SM and Wimberly needed . . .

Stay safe. Sister lives in Austin -- her house is on a hill and she's flooding. Crazy.

Same intersection. First one, from 1998, Aquarena Springs with Sewell Park (fence as a dam) looking at Sessom intersection. Second one from today, University Dr with Sessom straight and Aquarena curving to the right. You can see the brick University sign in both.
The 1998 flood also flooded Strahan, after 30 inches of rain, inside the building. That's the flood that cancelled TXST game against Nicholls and started the "battle for the paddle"
