Fritz $525000

Fritz deal goes up every year as well as Satterfield's. Unless you get close to 1M any good G5 or just about any P5 can easily woo your coach away. 1.5M pretty much safeguards you from all but good P5's. In other words for just about all in the Belt for the time being if your team does really well expect to lose your coach. If Satterfield goess 11-1 this year and repeats and 11-1 season next year there is no way App keeps him unless they nearly triple his salary. His youth makes it harder for App to hold on to him than for us with Fritz.

I agree we really don't have anything to worry about for a couple of years, except for maybe the Virginia position, if they fire their coach, and come after SS, UVA is close enough to his families in NC that he would have to give it serious consideration. We have taken care of the salary part, now we need to show him we are committed to growing the product by increasing the size of the stadium, and general improvement of the facilities. Big advantage we have with SS that GS doesn't have with Fritz, is SS and his wife connection to the school, he was the starting QB, both graduated from App, and both their families are close to them, I believe his wife's family is an hours drive away. There is no doubt SS and his family are very happy in Boone, and aren't looking to leave anytime soon, that's why Im not worried about any GS schools including AAC, but, when even when the bigger schools come calling, I don't think it will be a slam dunk that he leaves, I still think it will take a special P5 school to get him to leave Boone.

Many good G5's pay 1M he is gone for that kind of money. I dont think you guys are near 1M. You never know when a school will come get your coach ask ArkSt. I think schools would like to see a little more on the resume before they come calling and if he pulls off 11-1 next year folks are going to come calling for sure, hopefully we will help in that area though and keep that from happening. :) When it comes to coaches the whole he is a grad, their family is close is a far cry from doubling your salary. He may not go for 100K more but you anymore and your are talking about life changing money. For 250K more a year I am sure he would be ok flying in family anytime he wanted to see them and make a nice donation to App State athletics to ease the pain of leaving. Everybody loves their families but the same folks who think it matters to coaches so much are usually the same folks that would change jobs and more for a longer lunch brake much less make hundreds of thousands more in salary.

They want a bit more experience huh....Freeze one year as FBS HC....Malzahn one year as FBS HC....Harsin one year as FBS head coach. Now I know Malzahn was known to Auburn being their OC in national championship year and Harsin was an alum of Boise. Freeze had been and off the field(I think) guy with Ole Miss...but that was all. Sometimes it makes no difference. If they like what they see.....your coach is gone. These guys are wanting to make a mark and APP is like stAte....you won't do it there.

app and gaso are both doing well and will be in bowl games this year. there are plenty of coaches on the hot seat so I bet AD's will come calling. I think untexas was paying their guy 750,000 before letting him go.
