Like every other poll this one is an opinion based on some metrics. Realistically at this time can't see App as #20 in the country especially with teams like Mich St. ranked below App. If App runs the table then yeah I could see the ranking in the Top 20.

Agreed, we've still got a lot to prove this season to be worthy. Man what a long week coming off that Thursday game.

I would argue that it it not a "poll" at all. A poll implies voting. And in no way does it present an "opinion." It is purely advanced stats, adjusted for strength of schedule.03-thumbsup

I follow Bill C and Football Study Hall quite a bit and I assure you that there is no opinion in his work. It is strictly statistics and numbers. However, I agree that it leads to some interesting or unusual results on occasion.

Good job Appies! I see many of you think it's a bit high but you deserve it.

Congrats on #20, but the minute I saw that a 2-loss Michigan team was #2 and the 2 teams they lost to are #21 Utah (6-1) and #27 Michigan St (8-0) it lost any trace of legitimacy.

Zero opinion, 100% numbers and statistics.

This is not a ranking of "who's the best team." This is a statistical ordering of how teams are performing. Yes, he has his own proprietary formulas, but he also uses this for predictions and his predictions are pretty accurate. I think everyone should read his explanation of the Five Factors and why they are more indicative of team success than the old way of thinking.

Look at this write up from the Georgia Southern - App State game:
http://www.footballstudyhall.com/2015/10...ap-funbelt

For his article on the Five Factors:
http://www.footballstudyhall.com/2014/1/...ve-factors

This guy is much smarter in stats than ANY of us on here. He knows what he's talking about.
