I like, your picks. I said last week no G5 has scored more than 14 points on our defense, and App has not scored less than 30 on a G5. Still the case after GS. Won't change this week either in my opinion. Line play, line play, line play. That's the difference on both sides of the ball for App. This team shows no signs of inconsistency from week to week. Sellout crowd predicted Saturday. Halloween. The Rock will be loud and proud.

Watch out for Idaho and Yes, Georgia State this weekend.

I am always hesitant to pick the Vandals over any team. I feel pretty confident the Vandals will come out ahead in this game against NMSU.

After hearing the news about our WR Dez Epps, I think the score will be

31 IDAHO
24 NMSU

Go Vandals.

I can see us being up 7 or 14 to zero at half time, but after being on the field for 40 minutes, the solid Troy defense will give and we'll run it up.

Or defense has been on the field most the time all year lol. But I'm not saying it's impossible. But seeing how well the defense has done I would be surprised to see app score 40 or even more than 30 UNLESS the offense turns the ball over (which could happen)

GS: 31 Texas State 21…Texas State has the talent that if they scheme properly it can be interesting. I wonder if the new DC also has things under control as well.
Ark St: 34 Ga St. 14….I see this one going a lot like last year
App 38 Troy 17…Troy may not give up a ton of yards but I see them giving up field position that App will turn into points
Idaho 38 NMSU 21
ULL 28 ULM 24…Cajuns narrowly avoid the upset

Troy's defense gets better after halftime. If you are going to run the score up, you better get it done before the half. They make some very good half-time adjustments.

Our offense isn't just our offense, it's our defense (if that makes sense). Not only scoring defensive TDs, but giving the offense short fields and keeping your defense on the field. You guys have easily the 2nd best defense in the league, though. I just think the biggest crowd of the year is going to give the Troy offense fits. Turnovers and 3 and outs make it tough on your defense come 3rd and 4th quarter.

Your on crack if you don't think Idaho can roll over nmsu. And if you think Georgia state will come any where close to giving Arkansas state a game.

My prediction is that there will be a kickoff and there will be a whistle at the end of the ball game.......some points will be scored in between and then we will know.........what the outcome will be......THAT my friends is the most accurate prediction of all.......cause on paper APP should win.....but we do not play on paper so on Saturday about 6 we will know.03-drunk

No offense to Troy, but we haven't given up more than 14 points to any G5. Troy is one of the worst offenses in the league. The 52 they scored last week came against the worst defense in the nation. I would be very disappointed if we gave up >20 points.

Score predictions for week 9
Our average score against G5 teams this year has been 41-9. Each week goes by and another team leaves saying we were better than they thought.

It's a little surprising that at this point there are no common opponents to compare so that makes it a complete guess. Maybe we don't break 40 this game, but I see no reason to believe Troy will break 20.

35-13 App State wins.

A lot of them also go with "we played the worst game we've played all year."

We must be so lucky that everyone plays so poorly against us

RE: Score predictions for week 9
waiting for us to have a bad game, we have played great since Clemson, but, think about it, we just beat our biggest rival, we have our toughest game next week against Ark State. Odds are when a team plays at a high level for 6 out of 7 weeks, that they are going to have a let down game eventually. Good news is, we should be able to handle Troys offense, even if we don't play our best on defense, but their defense is good enough where if our offense doesn't play well, they can keep us in check.

Like I've said before, if your strengths are defense and offensive line, it is a lot easier to be consistent and not have "let down games" versus if your strengths are in your skill positions. We are the better team in the trenches and it will show again.
