Thread derailments are getting out of hand.

Please remain on topic and be respectful of other posters thoughts and opinions.

Major derailments only occur when multiple posters add to or attack an off-topic post. Usually the very posters who then complain about derailments. Either ignore a post or report, don't be part of the problem.

Such derailments will be split to either the Bar & Grill or Smack forums and the original thread may be locked and closed to prevent further issues.

Contributing to a derailment include but are not limited to:

• Making statements not directly within the subject of the thread.
• Making tangential remarks which one has to be directed to the relation to the discussion in the thread. Apples are apples; oranges are oranges...let's not try to compare apples to oranges.
• Actively egging on other posters causing responses that contribute to an in-progress derailment. If a thread is coming off the tracks don't contribute to it, report it.
• Snarky or off-hand comments intended to be funny, but have no value to the topic of the thread.
• Purposely attempting to get under another posters skin which elicits a response. This is the definition of flaming. If you have and issue with a poster or what he/she posts. USE THE IGNORE FEATURE!

Any poster who attempts to resurrect or continue to participate in a derailment on the main board after it has been dealt with by the moderators will be subject to an immediate moderate flaming warning for each instance (25%).

Decisions regarding what is or is not a derailment is the sole decision of the moderation team. If you feel a post is a derailment, use the report feature with the reason as a derailment and we will look at the suspect post. If you disagree with a post or posts that have been moved or closed as a derailment pm a moderator. Public discussion of such actions are subject to 15% increase in your warning level.

And the obvious trolls?
