RE: FloridaJaq's Kennesaw State Thread
Just as I pimped for Ga State, App State and Ga Southern. I am now officially pimping for Kennesaw State as the next invite for Sun Belt Membership.

#1 reason - Local

Kennesaw State is ideal for travel for the eastern Sun Belt Teams and a natural rivalry for Ga State (# 2 reason).

Let the pimping begin.

For football in 2020 or 2024.

Travel distance from SBC eastern members

App State >> 313 miles (5 hrs 17 minutes)
Georgia State >> 30 miles (29 minutes)
Coastal Carolina >> 376 miles (5 hrs 37 minutes)
South Alabama >> 352 miles (5 hrs 15 minutes)
Troy >> 215 mile (3 hrs 28 minutes)

Air Travel into Atlanta a plus to SBC fans.

Let's just keep what we have for a while and see how we develop as a conference.

It doesn't work that way. Review Sun Belt history over the past twenty years. Then read SEC history over the past twenty years. Time waits for no one.

This year KSU Baseball played Georgia State and Troy.
This year KSU Softball played Georgia State (twice) and Troy.
This year KSU Soccer had a game with Georgia State

The upcoming women’s Basketball season. Kennesaw State vs Geogia State November 7, 2015

Plus KSU has its first football game against Georgia State in 2018. http://www.ajc.com/news/sports/college/g...all/ng53f/

Clearly, what is good for Georgia State is good for the Sun Belt.

Not dissing Kenessaw State, but they've only defeated one legit FCS opponent, another FCS startup, two NAIAs, and D2 Shorter Univ. How many SBC conference members that share their state with a second SBC member have voted to admit a third ?

They can come in IF we ever head to another conference. If Willie Fritz leaves for greener pastures, Brian Bohannon will be near the top of our short list.

Does Kennesaw State really have aspirations of going FBS/SBC?

I know their fans will, the leadership would never say unless it becomes possible. It is a metro commutish type school that blew up during the 2000's they just absorbed Southern Poly. Fragmented, but student pop will be large. They have any success in the FCS and their fans will be on here just like Liberty's before to long. I think four FBS schools is what GA can definitely support five I don't know.

Disclaimer: I'm not pimping KSU

Georgia could handle 5. Alabama has 5 (well once UAB is back) and JSU would love to make it 6. And Georgia has over twice the population as Alabama.
