Calls them mostly regrettable....

Yet most of the comments are praising the signs...

Yep. Deadspin usually decides whether they like something or hate it and then goes wildly in that direction. Not surprised that they chose those words and that everyone else thinks it's good stuff. Wouldn't be surprised if SB Nation published first and liked them so Deadspin had to go in the other direction.

I had to stop like 6 times on my way to the Quad from P-Lot so people could take pictures of my sign.

That was me!!! The last half hour the wind picked up a little bit, the sign came close to crashing and burning, irony?

I had a few posters come up and introduce themselves. Great to meet all of you.

Don't know if it was the sign I suggested or the comment I put on the Game Day facebook page, but it worked, I think. I sent a message to Lee Corso that Howard Stevens was from Harrisonburg. He wound up having Howard on Game Day! He said Howard was the greatest running he ever coached. Howard, of course played at Harrisonburg High School and then went to Randoph Macon for two years. He was a Little All-American there and then transferred to Louisville where Lee Corso coached him. Howard looked like he could still suit up.

forgot about that till I watched on DVR last night. Also, BSKB - I was fortunate enough to get some early bacon (about 6:25 a.m.) from your nephew on Saturday. Looking forward to meeting you and getting some airplane bacon vs. Villanova!

Good job BSKB. I saw Howard Saturday before he left the Quad. He played with one of my cousins at Macon. It was good to see him and have a chance to chat with him briefly since I was only 4-5 years old at the time he played in Ashland.

I bumped into Howard Stevens at the Harrisonburg High School game on Friday. Told him he didn't need to say anything but that I had a pretty good idea why he was in town. I don't really know him, but we've crossed paths a time or two over the years. It turns out that he and Corso are pretty close. Stevens said he called Corso pretty much the second he heard about Game Day coming to Harrisonburg, and it sounded like an invite to the show quickly followed. Not that any other efforts to get him involved with the show could have hurt.
