why are we always kicking 50 +yard field goals. Are we trying to get Mulder the Lou Groza award. That puts the game out of reach, total momentum swing. C'mon Creighton, that is some dumb decision making.

Because either you have faith in your players to make plays or you don't. If it has turned out you'd be calling CC a genius.

They are low percentage kicks, and EMU was down by 15. It isn't the right call to keep your team in the game. If he makes it, then its still a 12 point game and Toledo was getting the ball to start the second half, we needed a touchdown.

Of course, I'm too blind and/or dumb to see the truth...that the only reason EMU only has 6 points is because their own defense is stopping the offense from scoring. Makes perfect sense.

EMU is also winning the time of possession battle. So who how can their defense be that tired. Keep trying though. If I have to agree with Bob on one thing, it is that many of you get your feelings hurt way to easy. The defense just gave up two long touchdowns in the first few minutes of the second half. 42 points so far. Worst rated rush defense in the country, and you're blaming the offense. That is ridiculous. The Offense shouldn't have to score 45 points a game.

Toledo is our top rival...we are less than an hour apart. No one in their right mind thought we would win but this horse s**t is unacceptable.

Bell is not a QB. Never has been.

Creighton's subbornness and/or incompetence is really going to suck when Roback transfers.

Fire McCaslin, and if Creighton is staking his career on Bell for the next two years, he will be back in Division 3. How is it that they averaged 30 points a game with Roback at quarterback and they thought this was a good idea.

Exactly. Let a QB play QB. Bell is not a college QB.

The thought of game planning against Wooster and Otterbein might be more appealing, even for 40k a year.

RE: Game Day: Toledo
This is the first time this year the team quit on the coaches. It is fairly obvious that they just want to get back on the bus. I have defended Creighton on numerous occassions; I believed because of his character he would be able to change the culture of EMU football. What I failed to take into consideration was Football Aptitude. Deboer has football Aptitude, it shows at times in the play calling and the way the offense has played at times this year. McCaslin doesn't belong in division 1 football, Creighton should announce his firing on Monday, the defense has failed to improve in two years, and regardless of the talent level that is a reflection on McCaslin. Creighton's decision making must now be called into question; I believe Deboer has always been higher on Bell than Roback, but shame on Creighton for not putting him in his place and making a head coaching decision. Shame on Creighton for letting this season get this out of control. All hope is not loss, but if there isn't a change it will be.

Toledo is not your rival. EMU's rivals are in Kzoo and Mt. P.

None of them are true rivals. It is WMU v. CMU, so by default it is Toledo even though, you have Bowling Green just down the road...Doesn't matter we can't beat any of the 3 right now.

I wish commentators would stop saying, "Creighton is a great coach." Maybe at the non-scholarship level but he has proven nothing at the big boy level.

RE: Game Day: Toledo
Where I fault CC is that his team came out at halftime after playing a mistakes plagued first half where at the team tried to play competitive. We all agree that Toledo maybe the top defensive team in the MAC, we had a few scoring opportunities we didn't capitalize on.

I have seen progress at various games for a quarter, two quarters and maybe even four quarters but this isn't one of those games. Against Akron and Toledo the players have seem to quit and lie down and get run over like a mat if they fall behind.

I continue to think we'll see both Bell and Roback for a while depending on who or who doesn't move the team.

I said this before I look at this season has been being one long tryout camp, the staff needs to separate the wheat from the chaff. Those who perform and execute and give a 110% stay and those who don't, don't get their scholarships renewed. And yes a defensive coordinator change is must.

On a positive note Toledo shut previous opponents. The results of this game shouldn't shock anyone.

Seriously, this is like rooting for Vanderbilt vs Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Same conference but the similarities end there.

It's hard to disagree. I think we are seeing that Creighton's biggest fault is that he is too loyal. He needs to manage the program like winning is the most important thing. Winning goes beyond any loyalty to an assistant coach or a starting QB decision made in August. Fixing this program will require big boy changes. If that means you have to fire your buddy then so be it.
