NMSU at Georgia Southern
The Aggies visit Statesboro for the first time on Georgia Southern's homecoming. What's everyone think? Two long trips impact their play or will the Eagles be looking ahead to the Thursday night showdown with App?

Easy win for GS. But please look past TXST in a few weeks.

Thursday night on ESPNU in Paulson...just don't see that happening. Should be a great atmosphere for football.

It's the definition of a "trap game", but I'm not worried about falling into that trap. Eagles roll 48-19. Our guys will be watching film of App on the sideline during the game.

I can see this going either way, I see Georgia Suhrn' pummeling New Mexico State... and yet, I see New Mexico State kicking off with a 14-0 lead from the 1st quarter and ending the first half at 17-7. The beagles will try making their comeback and get up to a 21-17 deficit against the Aggies by 4th quarter, and finish the game at 44-16 Aggies. But who knows what will happen, and yes, that is the final score I have chosen.

I am interested to see how NMSU fares, to see if this is any indication of how much of a fight we can put up.

I really hate that term...it is meaningless. Honestly by the end of the first quarter do teams not look at the scoreboard and now they need to pick it up?

It is just a way for the experts and fans to label a game that way so they can still think they are right and or still good and not giving any credit to the opposing team for just being better that day.

Stranger things have happened but 99.99% sure we roll in this one.

If we had our starting quarterback, this might happen, but without him, I think we'll fall behind early. The backups are making newbie mistakes that took 1+ years for our starter to fix. If we're lucky, Georgia Southern might give us the space to make a comeback but we'll lose off our own inexperience...again.

Best Case:
41 - 20 Another ULM-like game for Southern

Worst Case:
55 - 10 NMSU just can't play offense or defense past the first 2-3 drives. Team morale plummets thereafter.

I think NMSU can score a few on us but nothing I have seen watching you guys play GSU or Ole Miss tells me you will be able to stop us. I'm thinking since it's homecoming we won't come out flat so maybe something like 44-24 worst case or 49-10 best case.

NMSU gave up 210 yards rushing to Georgia State. I think we'll be fine.

Well, they played us pretty tight last year and we have had a week off to get rusty so I reserve the right to remain nervous until we've either won the game or secured a twenty plus point lead with less than 15 to play.

The 26 point spread on this game is about the easiest money to come along in awhile. Jump on it now.

Yes, when our backups come in, Upshaw and Fields are more than capable of rolling up the yards and points.

Be careful. If you look past NMSU to the big rivalry game the following week you might fail to score 100 points.

RE: NMSU at Georgia Southern
1st string QB ( Tyler Rogers ) had surgery Monday and is out indefinitely.

Starter ( RS Fr Nick Jeanty, or Sophomore Andrew Allen ) to be named after practice today ( Wed ).

Line is up to 29 at teamrankings.com.

Given:
  1. The Eagles are rolling ( 300+ rushing yards, 40+ points )
  2. Aggie Defense, with another 1st year coordinator, is bottom of the heap again.
  3. Aggie QBs are not experienced
  4. Roadie for the Aggies
  5. Homecoming for the Eagles
  6. Line at 29 is a prohibitive favorite

The king and queen will probably leave after being crowned at halftime.

My only question for this game is will the Aggies find any scheme defensively to slow down GaSo?

Obviously, if you can run the ball as well as the Eagles have, you don't need to throw.
And of the few games I've seen of GaSo, Ellison can throw.
But this year, which schools have sold out to stop the Eagle run?
Have the Eagles run on them anyway?

Obviously have to try something, because a status quo approach wouldn't seem to work.
